Position Summary:

This position requires an ambitious professional to be part of the accounts payable team in support of Latin America Financial Shared Services. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing invoices, managing vendor relationships, ensuring accurate and timely payments, and maintaining financial records.



Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Process invoices in Quick Base and VIM with appropriate account coding and approvalsMust be familiar with local regulatory requirementsLiaison with BPO’s for payment processingSupport Audit requests both internally and externallyAbility to analyze invoice issues in multiple systems, working with Information Systems to determine root cause and resolutionAbility to evaluate and determine required and accurate data on Vendor Master Data Records3-way and 2-way invoice match to PO experience requiredConduct an analytical review of the purchase order to invoice to determine the cause and fixResearch and resolve supplier disputes and issuesCollaborate with the purchasing team to resolve invoice-to-PO discrepancies.Goods Receipts/Invoice Receipts reconciliation experienceProvide excellent customer service to outside suppliers and internal business partnersEnsure timely and accurate processing of all accounts payable invoicesComply with all internal controls to ensure accurate financial records, particularly in relation to Corporate Signature Authority Matrix, SOX narratives, Sunshine Act, and Global Purchasing PolicyAdhere to contractual payment terms to ensure smooth operation of the business while maximizing prompt payment discountsEmbody Illumina, Inc. values in dealing with both external and internal customersProvide financial information if requested (for example:  check numbers, invoice copies, etc.)Other duties as assigned by Management

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Effective communication (oral and written), Bilingual must speak English, analytical, and problem-solving skillsAbility to demonstrate problem identification and resolutionWorking knowledge of accounting principles - accrual experience helpful3 Years of accounts payable experience with heavy volumeProficiency in Excel, and other similar desktop applicationsIncluding pivot tables, V-Lookups, and formulasStrong customer service skills: ability to work in a team environmentEffective organizational and time management skillsSelf-motivated; high bias for action and able to work independently.SAP/Vendor Invoice Management (or local system) experience preferred.Knowledge of local tax laws and regulations in LATAM countries would be an advantage.Ability to maintain strict confidentiality

Preferred educational background:

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
