Overview Rhode Island Energy is seeking a Sr. Billing Specialist that will be responsible for providing expertise, analysis, and solutions to complex supplier coordination (EGS), billing, regulatory processes and technical problems with a focus on improving operational effectiveness and excellence. The Supplier Coordination/Billing Analyst has an in-depth knowledge and understanding of supplier activities, billing processes and the systems to support the tasks. Proactive monitoring is performed to identify potential concerns. This position is the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for projects that impact billing and EGS billing and enhances other's understanding of business processes and systems. \#RIE #INDRIE Responsibilities + Provide analysis and solution to complex billing, EDI, EGS processes and technical problems + Enhance other's understanding of “end-to-end” EDI, EGS and billing processes + Review and create detailed documentation of business processes and the use of associated systems + Monitor and analyze various system control reports, to determine root cause and resolution + Implement new controls + Lead EGS/Billing regulatory Projects as directed + Develop training and advise others + Perform account data repairs to allow system users to proceed with customer billings + Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal customers and EGSs + Prepare and deliver testimony for regulatory proceedings + Investigate and respond to inquiries from internal and external customers, e. Call Center, Business Accounts, and/or Suppliers. + Identify opportunities to use information technology to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of business + Define requirements, prepare process flows, test and implement billing process and system + improvement changes due to Regulatory orders or business process improvements to streamline + processes and reduce billing + Assist with business case preparation + Prepare clear, concise, comprehensive communications with minimal supervisory + input to internal (various departments) and external (EGS, PUC) stakeholders + Facilitate meetings and deliver presentations + Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all departments in PPL Electric Utilities as well as regulatory agencies and working teams (EDEWG, OCMO and PUC/BCS). + In-person supervision of employees to ensure compliance with FLSA wage and hour issues as well as to monitor compliance with safety + Physical presence in the office/on-site to engage in face-to-face interaction and coordination of work among direct reports and co-workers. + May be assigned an Electric Utilities emergency and storm This is a special assignment that comes into play during storms and other emergencies when the company needs to restore power or respond to other issues affecting customer service. This role may necessitate the need to work after-hours, outside of your normal schedule.
