JOB SUMMARY
The Sr Central Planning Analyst is responsible for developing and migrating merchandising reports to Microsoft Power BI to improve data visualization capabilities. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Central Planning, this individual will also be responsible for executing merchandise operations tasks related to markdowns, visual initiatives, and delivering product development milestones reporting. This position will require developing ad-hoc and exception-based analysis as needed and support the Senior Manager, Central Planning and Analytics in planning activities. The incumbent will also partner with cross-functional team members within the organization including Finance, Store Operations, and IT analytics to ensure cross functional merchandising needs are met.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Lead the development of reporting tools for the Merchandising team for key company-wide initiatives and key strategic milestone meetings. Support the ongoing maintenance of said reporting tools Execute merchandising operations tasks that are critical dependencies for cross functional partnerships with store operations, marketing, omnichannel, and visual merchandising. These include Markdown Calendars, Markdown Forms, and Price Events that require governance to manage company exposure to audit compliance. Provide both ad-hoc and ongoing merchandising reporting that delivers a consistent set of metrics to measure performance. Deliver accurate and on-time reporting of KPI’s. Provides weekly performance analysis on key merchandising initiatives (vignettes, endcaps, etc.) Support the Sr. Manager of Business Analytics and other members of merchandising leadership to prepare for key company-wide meetings. Communicate effectively with multiple departments including Marketing, Merchandising, Merch Ops, Finance, Store Operations and analytics to support the needs of the business.QUALIFICATIONS
Strong proficiency in data analysis and data visualization tools, along with associated programming languages (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, Microsoft Excel, Power Query, SQL, R) 3 – 5 years’ experience in inventory analysis, data science, strategy, pricing, or a related field in a retail merchandising / CPG environment. Ability to work cross-functionally and influence skip level leaders. Ability to synthesize large datasets into actionable insights. Maintains a curious, positive attitude. Actively listens to others and works constructively in a team environment. Detail oriented with high focus on data and deliverable accuracy Able to balance multiple deadlines and proactively adjust timelines to meet stakeholder needs.
