MV Transportation is seeking a Senior Claims Examiner to be a key contributor to the Claims & Risk Management team and our initiatives to mitigate exposure to losses by providing effective claims management and oversight of MV’s TPA.

 

Job Responsibilities:

Senior Claims Examiner will assist the TPA in investigating, evaluating, and resolving claims of a more complex nature including litigations with a focus on minimizing exposure to the company.Responsible for the investigation, liability determination, negotiation, financial analysis and settlement of claims.Lead and direct external parties (attorneys, investigators, vendors) when necessary to bring about the successful settlement of claims.Communicate with internal/external parties (insurance Companies/plaintiff/attorney/adjusters/witness/law enforcement, etc.) to bring about the successful settlement of claims.Prepare for and advocate at depositions, trials and mediations for the Company.Collaborate regularly with defense counsel to strategize and formulate plans for defense.Responsible for following claims department processes and procedures (diary/reserving/coding /contact) in an effort to bring about the appropriate settlement of claims.Ensures that claims payments are issued in a timely and accurate mannerEnsures that claims handling is conducted in compliance with applicable statues, regulations and other legal requirements, and that all applicable company procedures and policies are followedMay provide guidance and assistance to lower level adjuster and other functional areasMay collaborate with other functional areas such as safety, human resources and various members of the fieldProactively work to assist others in achieving the organization's objectives.Performs other duties as assigned

 Talent Requirements:

(5) plus years years handling complex commercial handling transportation claimsBachelor’s degree, Associate in Insurance (AINS), Associate in Risk Management (ARM) or other related designations preferred.Maintain state licensing where requiredMust possess excellent investigative skills with the ability to achieve optimal conflict resolutionsMust possess excellent negotiation skills and be able to appropriately influence and persuade othersMust be able to analyze complex situationsMust possess fact finding skills with ability to gather detailed informationMust be able to work independently or in a team environmentExperience with Risk Management Information Systems (RMIS)
