Sr Container Specialist (Active Secret Clearance REQUIRED)

We are looking for a Systems Engineer to provide engineering and design services for the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) IT infrastructure under the Revolutionary Information Technology Services (RITS) contract.

What will you be doing?

Selected candidate will work in a multi-vendor container environment that includes design, architecture, configuration, and deployment. Areas of responsibility may include solutions in Kubernetes, Longhorn, Tanzu, Docker, OpenShift. Translates business needs into long-term architecture solutions. Defines, designs, and builds directory, monitoring, clustering, configuration management environments. Responsible for developing directory, monitoring, clustering, configuration management design architecture and artifacts, evaluating hardware and software platforms, configurations, and integrating systems. Evaluates current environment for additional performance efficiencies, stability, reliability, and serviceability, and security posture. Conducts, documents and collaborates on technology reviews to ensure that the environment is aligned with current trends in directory, monitoring, clustering, configuration management technology.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate openly and frankly with all internal and external partners, such as Government Engineers, Contractor Engineers, Contractor Operations staff, Management, and 3rd party vendors Work independently, including the self-management of projects. Help others and ask for help without hesitation. Ensure timely delivery of all Engineering Service Requests, removing any obstacles to completing work as scheduled Perform risk analysis of each Engineering Service Request, and inform all stakeholders of the applicable risks Provide technical guidance and leadership on the Systems Engineering with a focus on container solutions within the Corps of Engineers’ environment Assist/Mentor junior engineers on container solutions Participate in developing the target container and virtual architecture Design new implementations of the container environment stack, and after Information Assurance review, coordinate the installation of them with the DevOps Engineer, Enterprise Operations, and relevant stakeholders Document container architecture, including network port connectivity, and design choices of the associated applications (Low Level Design, High Level Design) Integrate container systems into the enterprise Configuration Management Database Automate facets of the container environment, including deployment, SSL certificate monitoring/requests, patching and upgrades in coordination with DevOps Engineers Provide secure, reliable, and high performing configurations of the container environments Other duties as assigned
