The Sr. Data Scientist role will require the necessary skill sets in statistical modeling and advanced analytics techniques to generate models for the Finance department to further our understanding of Tractor Supply’s operational and financial performance. This role will own the translation of predictive modeling results to actionable insights that can be utilized across the TSC organization. In addition, this position will aid the broader Finance Team with data analysis requests as needed by the business.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%) Provide analytical support to various department leadership teams to be used in key business decisions. Design, perform, report, and present insightful scientific analyses that address financial, operational and accounting implications, as well as pinpoint key drivers and identify short- and long-term action steps that focus on current and future business implications. Provide analytical support to senior business leaders and all departments. Support the long-range planning, strategic planning, and budgeting processes across all functions. Manage multiple projects simultaneously including development of new technologies and maintenance of existing framework. Conduct, perform, report, and present special financial and statistical studies in coordination with other departments. Maintain a broad exposure to the wider ecosystem of AI / Machine Learning and ensure our team is pushing toward the most optimal solutions.Required Qualifications
Experience: 5+ years of related business or retail experience.
Education: Bachelor’s degree is required. Master of Business Administration (MBA), Mathematics, or related advanced degree is desired. Any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.
