The Senior Data Warehousing Engineer will leverage their ETL, SQL, and backend development expertise to extract and model data from various sources, including RDBMS, NoSQL databases, and from APIs within a complex and heterogeneous solution environment. They will create data warehouses for production, dashboard, and ad hoc reports, and will also help build and support these reporting assets.
This role will be onsite at our Irving, TX location (just north of DFW airport), 5 days per week. Not a remote or hybrid role.
What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?
Learn and remain current on all functional aspects of digital solutions that impact data for operational reporting, including but not limited to repositories containing data from: ERP, Warehouse Management System, automation systems, middleware components, HRIS, and associated transactional logging
Develop hands-on familiarity with processes in a reverse logistics warehouse environment to inform the understanding of underlying data
Develop, document, and socialize requirements for all data warehousing deliverables, including the data flow diagrams and data models
Work with data analytics developers to ensure that all required data is available to satisfy client/internal reporting requirements
Use ETL processes and tools to extract data from internal RDBMS resources (Oracle and SQL Server) and model them into high-performance SQL Server data warehouse resources
Use ETL tools and/or backend coding (Python or .NET) to draw from NoSQL resources and integrate with RESTful APIs to retrieve data for same
Develop logic to monitor for systemic anomalies and exceptions and real-time alerts for business and product owners
Provide end-to-end visibility for individual assets across all integration layers in a single reporting context/interface
Write complex SQL queries to satisfy client/internal reporting requirements
Build reports in Excel and SSRS and dashboards in Power BI
Perform ad hoc data analysis as required by client and internal management
Perform quality analysis of all results to validate the accuracy of data
What are the requirements needed for this position?
5+ years of experience performing ETL activity using Azure Data Factory (preferred) or Microsoft SSIS to construct high-performance and cohesive data warehouses using facts and dimensions
5+ years of experience working with and writing queries for NoSQL data in Azure Table Storage, Azure CosmosDB, MongoDB, and Azure Application Insights (Kusto Query Language)
5+ years of advanced experience working with RDBMS platforms like SQL Server and Oracle, specifically, including…
Experience writing complex queries using subqueries, Common Table Expressions (CTEs), derived tables, and temporary table structures
Ability to write parameterized queries and utilize variables
Understanding of JSON data structures and the ability to query them using standard JSON-related SQL functions
Demonstrated ability to optimize query performance through appropriate use of temporary structures and query design patterns
Ability to decipher and modify complex stored procedures
5 years of experience writing integrations to a variety of APIs, including primarily RESTful APIs, but also integrations using SOAP and/or webhooks using .NET, Python, or Javascript
2 years of experience programming basic frontend interfaces, with a working knowledge of HTML, CSS, Javascript frameworks, and Ajax in a .NET context
2 years of experience creating effective reports and dashboards using Power BI. Ability to use DAX queries to refine reports and dashboard views.
Familiarity with the following Microsoft Azure tools a plus: Azure management portal, Azure Function apps, Azure Synaptics, and/or Azure Databricks

Pay Range
$101,500.00 - $169,400.00
Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience, and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
