The CBP Data Center Support Services project provides comprehensive data center support to the CBP Office of Information Technology (OIT) in the area of Enterprise Infrastructure. As a DataPower Engineer, the candidate will assist with web services, multiple protocol gateways, and network/gateway interfaces. The candidate will provide input and develop solutions for DataPower, Message Queueing and API’s. The candidate will also provide troubleshooting support as well as assist with debugging and problem solving. The candidate will need to be knowledgeable and understand certificate management along with the deployment and installation of certificates. The candidate should be able to work well in a team environment, while also being able to work independently.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Designing, implementing, documenting, and deploying solutions on a DataPower, Message Queueing and/or API.
+ Working with internal and external partners, stakeholders, and SME’s.
+ Drive the solution discussions with customer SMEs and business teams.
+ Understanding client application landscape and environment for middleware integrations/technologies.
+ Knowledge of monitoring, logging, and operational support.
+ Knowledge and/or use experience with automated deployments.
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
+ Strong knowledge in XML, WSDL, XSLT, JSON, XML Schema, and XPATH.
+ Experience in supporting and troubleshooting issues with an ability to understand system logs and system errors.
+ Good analytical and logical problem-solving abilities and good interpersonal skills.
+ Ability to take ownership of tasks and work independently, as well as with the application support teams.
+ Knowledge and understanding of programming languages; ex JAVA, Bash, scripting, python, C.
+ Experience in developing DataPower, Message Queueing and/or API based solutions using Web-Service Proxies, Multi-Protocol Gateways (MPG), XML Firewalls, HTTPS, and API’s.
+ Knowledge of IBM MQ and ActiveMQ technology and integration with DataPower.
+ Experience using digital certificates for SSL mutual authentication and encryption.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & CERTIFICATIONS:
+ Full CBP background investigation required to start.
+ 10 years of experience and an MS degree. Bachelor of Science (BS) can be substituted with an additional 4 years of related experience. Masters (MS) can be substituted with another additional 2 years of related experience.
+ 5 years of IT experience with 3+ years of experience in development work using DataPower, Message Queueing, API’s, and Message Transformations.
+ 3 - 5 years of experience in providing solutions in Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and REST based architecture using DataPower, API’s, Message Queueing, or similar products.
