Key Roles and Responsibilities
Develops daily labor plan for direct reports and coordinates with manager and other departments to ensure distribution center's goals are attained in both budget and production.
Provides training and guidance that encourages the steady growth and development of direct reports
Identifies and promptly resolves safety, production and communication problems which prevents the department from meeting deadlines and schedules.
Responsible for employee performance including safety, attendance, production, accuracy and behaviors, and addresses issues through coaching and corrective action as necessary.
Communicates with other management team members to coordinate operations and facilitate a smooth, efficient workflow.
Develop standard operating procedures and oversee training plan for team members.
Maintain the building's integrity concerning inbound, outbound through consistent monitoring of processes.
Ensures associates comply with corporate, distribution center and departmental policies and procedures
Able to resolve personal and professional conflicts that arise from their direct reports.
Assists in the interviewing, selection and hiring of direct reports.
Performs other duties, as necessary.
Qualifications and Competencies
Minimum high school; college degree preferred. Any combination of education and experience equivalent to degree or combination of training and experience may be acceptable.
2+ years supervisory experience. Basic knowledge of warehouse operations in a distribution environment preferred.
Ability to independently lead, coach, develop, and discipline an hourly team of direct reports
Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with subordinates & managers.
Computer literate. Previous WMS and YMS experience. Strong Word and Excel skills.
Ability to lift 75 pounds required.
Flexible and able to work weekends and off shifts.
Ability to work in non-climate controlled environment (cold & heat)
