Job Summary

This role develops technical and/or structural plans utilizing AutoCAD software, Navisworks, Inventor AUTOCAD 2D and 3D), solid works, and point cloud related 3D modelling software. The objective is to generate self-explanatory drawings for multi-discipline engineering tasks that will encompass the following:
o Conceptual Arrangement drawings
o Detailed Fabrication drawings
o Piping & Instrumentation Design (P&ID)
o Piping Isometrics
o Piping Arrangements
o Mechanical Arrangements
o HVAC Arrangements
o Electrical Schematics
o 3D Modelling- Structural and Piping
The listed documents are to align with guidance and approval of the appropriate engineering discipline. Finalized documents will take into consideration safety, financial implications, operational usage, regulatory compliance, and company standards.

Job Description

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

Develops sketches and layout plans in conjunction with the respective discipline engineer, project manager, and/or operations team to clarify specific issues such as clashes or verifications prior to moving ahead with generating detailed drawings. These services are provided to the following disciplines: MechanicalStructuralMarine - ArrangementElectricalSubsea designMarketing – Engineering ServicesCreate, develop, review, and approve new and/or revise multi-discipline engineering drawings utilizing AutoCAD, NAVIS works, solid works or 3D program as required. This role must ensure compliance with agency class rules (Inclusive ABS and DNV) and ensure adequate standards of safety are incorporated.Carry out searches and provide relative documentation references extracted from the company’s databases.  These references will be utilize as supporting data on drawings required by internal and external parties.Drafting checks on multi-discipline engineering drawings generated by third-party.  Provide markups for third party correction.Consult with engineering discipline to ensure drawing meets engineering design approval before completing and final issue of drawing.Become familiar with the document management system (OpenText) and follow protocol to ensure all responsible individuals include their approval/signoffs on a drawing prior to distribution.Upload and update drawings and documents in company’s archive and filing database - OpenText.Support the marketing department when developing layouts and proposals for specific bid requirements.  Follow- though with Marketing documentation requests and ensure up to date drawings are properly uploaded to the vessel’s repository. Some familiarity with ABS & DNV regulatory requirements is required.  Be willing to travel offshore as needed.

Education:

Associate's degree in computer Aided Design is preferred - or - Any technical education considered with years of work experience.

Experience:

A minimum of 5 years of work experience in CAD design of mechanical piping systems, structural design, and general layouts.Experience In any one of these fields is with Oil and gas facilities, Offshore drilling MODU, offshore processing plant (upstream /downstream) or shipyard upgrade repair/new build, is a must.

Skills: ​

Proficient with 3D modeling software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD Inventor)Experience creating construction drawing packages for fabrication and construction using industry standard including welding information.Experience managing multiple design projects in tandem and employing industry standards.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including conversation skills, and normal tact and courtesy.Highly detail-oriented and organized work behaviors are required.Highly proficient in the use of all Microsoft Office Products.

Pre-Requisite/ Qualification:

Must successfully complete pre-employment drug screen.Must successfully complete pre-employment background check.
