Job Description

As a Senior Linux DevOps Engineer, you will be the driver of both transformation and new ideas. You will design solutions for multiple business capabilities and must have fluency in Linux, automation, scripting, security, and networking fundamentals. You will help Rockwell move to a Cloud-Smart operating model that creates the best, agile, and on-demand IT products and services.

Reporting to Senior IT Manager

Your Responsibilities:You will contribute to the configuration management effort for a large, diverse, and complex existing computing environmentYou will design configuration standardsYou will design landing zone automation for computing environmentsYou will provide technical guidance for team members and coworkers on best practices with a specific focus on Linux and Unix operating systemsYou will monitor computing environments and develop ways to improve monitoringYou will develop automated runbooks for common tasks and resolving support escalation issuesYou will maintain daily management and administration of projectsYou will manage CI/CD tools with teamYou will design multiple processes; update existing processesYou will improve infrastructure development and application developmentYou will improve application, development, and infrastructure through codeYou will follow all best practices as established by our company

The Essentials - You Will Have:Bahcelor degree in engineering or equivalent experience.The Preferred - You Might Also Have:At least 7 years of experience managing Linux environments through automationAt least 5 years of experience managing large Linux environments through automationAt least 5 years of experience with configuration management tools (Puppet, Ansible, Chef)Scripting and automation skills (Terraform, Python, Git and Go)Demonstrated experience in systems administrationAt least 3 years of experience with continuous integration and deployment automation toolsAt least 3 years of experience building secure cloud infrastructure in Azure, AWS, or GCPAn aversion to manually fixing repeatable operational tasks with an affinity for automation
