Job Description

The Sr. Finance Director leads the finance team for the Cell Biology Business Unit ($1.5B in revenue) within the Biosciences Division and is a high-impact and visible role that directly affects executive-level decision-making, execution of strategy and contribution to the business unit's financial objectives achievement.

Responsibilities:

Strategic thought partner to the Vice President & General Manager and leadership team with a focus on driving growth and value creationLead and mentor the finance team and operating partners to develop enhanced skills and a keen business senseLead the core operating mechanisms, including the Annual Operating Plan process, Quarterly & Monthly Business Reviews and forecastsLead the development of financial and business models to support business projects and initiatives (such as new product development and related return on investment, acquisitions, product end of life ramp downs, etc.).Partner with commercial colleagues to develop and model large customer deals. Drive and ensure contract complianceDevelop analytical models and tools to drive growth initiatives and improve business decisions.Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets

Minimum Qualifications:

Candidate will demonstrate expertise in the following areas: financial planning and analysis, financial modeling, project management, and technical accounting knowledgeThe ideal candidate will exhibit leadership, initiative and Thermo Fisher Scientific 4i values of Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and InvolvementStrong business and industry knowledge with the ability to develop and implement robust financial processes to drive effective decisionsThe ability to identify and champion productivity improvements and create an atmosphere of continuous improvementConsistent track record to recruit, develop, and lead professional teams and provide constructive feedback through performance and development processesShown history of leading cross functional / country teams and building organizational relationships across functions & geographiesExcellent skills with MS Excel and MS PowerPoint are required

Education/ Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, Finance, Economics, Business or other relevant analytical backgroundCPA, Chartered Accountant, MBA12+ years of relevant work experience within a global organization.7+ years of management experience

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $192,700.00–$260,000.00.
