Teva’s Office of Business Integrity (OBI) is an independent global investigative function at Teva which manages the Teva Integrity Hotline and ensures that all reports of misconduct are handled efficiently, objectively and confidentially. The Head of the OBI is responsible for leading the OBI team & supporting Global Compliance & Ethics by overseeing investigations concerning various forms of alleged misconduct and fraud. The Head of OBI will also ensure that Teva’s OBI process to conduct investigations related to violations of the Code of Conduct, policies, laws or regulations to include, financial misconduct and corruption, conflicts of interest, asset misuse, harassment, discrimination, and employee relations issues, among others, is consistently followed by OBI Investigators, while taking into consideration each issue’s very unique circumstances. The Head of OBI will coordinate Teva’s internal resources and information across functional and regional boundaries, as well as collaborate with business partners across functions. This person will serve as a strategic and collaborative partner to the business by turning investigative findings into clear opportunities for improvement. The role must ensure strict confidentiality as needed, act with discretion and sensitivity, and ensure the function executes its objectives with minimal disruption to the business. The Head of OBI may also serve as a subject matter expert on investigations, applying and maintaining progressive knowledge of investigative techniques which are compliant with government laws and regulations. The Head of OBI will be a strategic member of Global Compliance & Ethics, serve as a collaborative and trusted business partner to other business units, all while maintaining objectivity and ensuring sound process. This role will routinely work with internal and external legal counsel to consult and/or on matters that may have civil, criminal and data privacy implications both within and outside the scope of OBI investigations. The Head of OBI is also responsible for preparing regular reports for senior leadership, as well as responding to ad hoc requests, as needed.

 

 

Location: This is a hybrid role that can be based out of our Parsippany, NJ OR West Chester, PA offices. Periodic travel to Parsippany will be required if based in West Chester.

How you’ll spend your day Provide professional investigative service and lead the Office of Business Integrity (OBI) and its investigators by directing and planning sensitive and complex investigations regarding reports of misconduct or fraud, ensuring all allegations are confidentially and objectively addressed. Evaluate and apply in-depth knowledge to establish standards of investigative efforts required, scope and depth of fact finding needed, proper use of investigative techniques and conclusions of investigations., but also with the aim of coaching and educating other employees or business stakeholders, as needed. Interact with all levels and departments within the organization and serve as subject matter expert on internal investigations. Ensure very close collaboration with objective Legal resource (internal and/or external) and maintain expert knowledge of specific requirements imposed by government agencies. Ensure all investigations are carried out in accordance with local laws. Provide high quality, clear and succinct written investigative reports to management in support of the overall complaint handling process. Report risks and deficiencies, identify trends and develop recommendations to protect Teva and its assets. Oversee and support the team of Investigators to ensure that the OBI process is followed on all cases. Mentor and develop the OBI team as needed. Contribute to Global Compliance & Ethics’ mission and strategy by promoting Teva Values, the Code of Conduct and promoting the OBI as an independent, confidential and trusted resource for employees to report concerns. Provide awareness training and support OBI initiatives across the globe, as needed. Demonstrate leadership and executive presence. Other projects and duties as required/assigned. Your experience and qualifications

 

A Bachelor’s Degree (BS/BA) is required. Advanced degree (Masters’ Degree or other professional degree) is preferred. Minimum 15 years corporate investigative experience. International investigation experience required. Minimum 10 years in the pharmaceutical or health care industry environment with compliance and investigations related experience. Bilingual / Multi-lingual preferred. Knowledge of the applicable regulations related to government authorities as well as state, local and federal laws governing compliance investigations. Preferred but not required: C.P.A. license, C.F.E. certification, or other relevant professional license or certification. Operational knowledge of ever evolving strategic investigative approaches so that adjustments can be made in alignment with developing risks. Experience with case management tools. General knowledge of the Teva organization, company policies and procedures. Communication Skills: Superior writing skills are required with the ability to clearly and objectively distill and communicate key findings in complex matters -- both verbally and in writing. Prepare documents that are clearly and concisely written. The responsibilities and complexity of this position, combined with the sensitive nature of the role, require superior communication skills. The individual must be able to professionally interact with all levels of Teva’s corporate infrastructure, as well as that of our business partners, vendors, and all levels of government authorities and law enforcement. Expertise: Possesses a depth of expertise in investigations management and administration. Effectively identifies and understands changes in the risk environment, and is able to suggest modifications to investigative methodologies, practices and procedures as appropriate. Influence: Demonstrates an ability to set and articulate strategy, drive critical decision making, influence others (without authority), and obtain accurate and positive results. Ability to facilitate cross-functional groups to coordinate efforts and elicit efficient responses. Technical Skills: Possess advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and standard Microsoft Office tools (Teams, Outlook, OneDrive, etc.) Time Management: Able to coordinate multiple investigations and projects simultaneously under tight deadlines. Prioritizes and organizes work effectively to ensure timely and accurate completion of projects. Problem Solving/Decision Making: Able to master a complex and global work environment. Superior problem-solving skills with the ability to tailor approach based on unique circumstances, risk, and audience. Uses resources available to determine and tailor appropriate actions for problems presented. Collaboration: Develops solid working relationships with peers and management. Participates in inter-departmental projects, knowledge management and training. Offers professional support and guidance to other team members. Provides and accepts constructive feedback.

 

 

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Business travel might be required for meetings, some projects and site visits. Estimated travel is 30%.
