Your New Role
This role leads planning and executing new capital infrastructure investments as well as end-of-life, break/fix capital, and deferred maintenance projects. The role serves as a subject matter expert for infrastructure installation, maintenance and repair and supervises a team of managers and coordinators who oversee a workforce providing 24/7 support to various facilities. The role requires expertise in critical infrastructure, including power systems and cooling plants, and Building Automation Systems (BAS). Responsibilities also encompass life safety equipment, and managing significant operating and capital budgets. Additionally, the role coordinates with procurement on projects. The role also monitors facility conditions 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. The role requires significant project management experience and may be responsible for managing projects, reviewing project designs and supporting special events and newsgathering requirements.
Your Role Accountabilities
Oversight & responsibility for the planning and execution of new capital infrastructure investments, end of life and break/fix capital and deferred maintenance projects.Directly supervises three physical plant managers and two coordinators overseeing a workforce of approximately 60 employees providing 24/7/365 support to datacenter, IT, broadcast and streaming production and services as well as general office and administrative space.Subject Matter Expert (SME) in critical infrastructure including 37 Uninterruptable Power Systems (UPS), 28 backup power generators and cooling plants generating up to 8000 tons of cooling capacity supporting datacenter and live broadcast entities.Oversight and management of the worldwide Building Automation System (BAS) ensuring control and visibility of utility and building support systems in local and remote facilities.Operates and maintains Life Safety equipment protecting 5000 employees.Reviews and facilitates all capital investment projects conducted on site.Direct management of annual operating and capital budgets of over $30 Million.Manages HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing and General Maintenance capital and expense contracted services.Oversees the work order control function and ensures CMMS reactive and preventative maintenance programs are executed.Develops and maintains 5-year Long Range Plan for capital level structural and infrastructure end of life systems (roofs, facades, generators, chillers AHU’s, cooling towers, UPS, etc.) and develops budget inputs for those items.Directs an ongoing asset documentation and preventive maintenance system that covers all major mechanical systems, electrical, HVAC, and fire protection systems.Manage facilities contractor, vendor, and service provider work.Develops budget inputs for new equipment needed to properly support additional facilities maintenance requirementsLeads the planning and execution of capital infrastructure investments as well as end of life and break/fix capital and deferred maintenance projects.Coordinate with Procurement to identify opportunities for local or portfolio-wide outsourced services relevant to maintenance and operations.Monitors and advises on condition of all facilities, grounds, and infrastructure to assist in thePlanning, development, and execution of building renovations and infrastructure additions.Reviews project drawings and submittals, provides SME input into critical infrastructure design methodology.Participates in capital construction meetings; provides punch list input.Develop and present risk analysis relative and cost impact to executive leadersProvides logistic and engineering support to major business unit special events and newsgathering requirements.Develops, implements, and executes an expandable Breaking News Support Plan designed to deploy electrical and other newsgathering support elements anywhere from Texas to Washington DC.Develops and deploys electrical distribution and other systems in support of various company-wide initiatives (Pride month, Breast Cancer Awareness, Employee Benefits, etc..)Qualifications & Experience
10+ years managing critical electrical infrastructure including but not limited to UPS systems, generators and static/transfer switchesMinimum five years of progressively responsible administrative, supervisory, and facilities management experience. Minimum five years of supervisory experience, directing contract, skilled, semi-skilled and non-skilled trade personnelExperience in maintenance and service contract compliance/procurement. Project management experience required in overseeing capital projects, maintenance plans, and/or renovation projects. Proficiency with Microsoft Office.Ability to resolve conflicts and relate to and build teams. Experience in managing the finance/budget of a large complex organization and projects. Ability to manage in a diverse environment with a focus on customer service. Experience in interacting effectively with stakeholders and coworkers while maintaining a professional and positive attitude and developing a team environment. Knowledge of ADA and building code requirements, OSHA and EPA regulations. Availability for frequent work off hours or on call emergencies including weekends, holidays, or as necessary is required.
