Sr Director - Health & Performance
Overview The Senior Director of Health & Performance works with the Health & Performance (H&P) management team to facilitate all day-to-day and strategic operations in order for the Health & Performance division to deliver world-class wellness programs that inspire guests to make lasting and meaningful lifestyle changes. The incumbent will coordinate the business and administrative needs of the programs and facility, ensuring the highest level of guest service and customer satisfaction. Key areas of focus for this position include but are not limited to: Administration of all H&P departments, compliance, division finances, guest satisfaction, management of capital improvements, interdepartmental process improvement, with direct oversight of staff including Nurse Manager, Medical Office Supervisor and Administrative teams. Responsibilities WHAT YOU'LL DO IN THE ROLE Daily Operations: Assumes primary responsibility for planning, coordinating and directing all Health & Performance department operations. Works closely with administrative and medical personnel in coordinating H&P functions with those of other Ranch departments and services. Develops and implements provider and support staffing schedule to meet patient care and service needs. Staff Supervision: Directly manage the Director of Health & Performance in Lenox and the Associate Director of Health & Performance, Nurse Manager, Medical Office Supervisor and Administrative teams in Tucson. Select, hire, train, schedule, counsel, terminate and conduct performance reviews. Establish and ensure operational protocols are observed and products/supplies are ordered and available as needed. Establishes annual budget for departments within division and manages daily to achieve the established budget. Approves and ensures accuracy of payroll time sheets and timekeeping entries in a timely manner. Policies & Procedures: Assist and review the development and revisions of Canyon Ranch Health & Performance policies and procedures with focus on continuous process improvement. Work with other members of the department and property to ensure consistency within department when possible. Create and monitor systems and protocols throughout the department to ensure all is working efficiently and effectively by leveraging quantitative data against Key Performance Indicators and visual dashboards. Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data, departmental utilization reports and revenue statistics. Create and manage division budget. Make logical recommendations and decisions based on the applicable and available data. Guide and direct respective managers and staff in division with effective and wise budgetary management decisions. Safety and Compliance: Oversee department facilities ensuring all areas are well maintained and standards are met. Ensures all Health & Performance areas record, report and resolve all cleanliness and safety concerns in their respective areas. Ensures that all staff maintain a “critical eye” perspective to their area (i.e. Cleanliness, repairs, supplies etc.). Directly responsible for division clinical operations to ensure compliance with applicable governing regulations including medical and medical lab daily operations. Ensure division facilities and associated equipment is being well-maintained and within compliance standards per property-specific (state) regulations. In this role, you will be extremely well-versed in medical records maintenance and appropriate release of records to insurance companies, attorneys, other health care providers as well as the guest. You'll serve as resource for all clinical compliance questions and concerns. Other Functions and Duties include: Actively demonstrates Canyon Ranch service standards and Ethos principles with staff and guests. Travels to other Canyon Ranch properties or vendor locations as needed. Participates in meetings as required. Qualifications WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL Significant specialized experience (6-10 years experience in same or related field). Knowledgeable in Electronic Health Records systems. Supervisory experience mentoring and coaching staff. Excellent organizational, judgement, listening and time management skills. Possess a strong attention to detail and follow-up skills with ability to identify and resolve problems. Demonstrated people management skills which have successfully motivated & enhanced performance & development Education/Certification Required Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences or equivalent experience.
