Sr Environmental Health & Safety Specialist
The Sr EHS Specialist will assist our EHS Leader in developing, maintaining, and implementing the overall safety and environmental programs for the Irving TX site with a primary focus on the Sales, delivery, and Warehouse section of the Irving Site. You will also promote organizational safety and continuous environmental improvement by working with all departments to analyze current situations and recommend safety and environmental improvements. You will provide strategic directions and initiatives for safety and environmental improvement by analyzing and addressing root causes while reducing corporate liabilities and costs. Conduct field/store assessments to ensure safe work is being adhered to by all merchandisers and sales team. EHS daily work will drive a Zero harm culture and lead to a compliant, safe, and incident-free work environment. Communicate results and processes to the leadership team and participate in leadership meetings to represent the safety culture.
Location: Irving, TX
Schedule: This is a full time exempt position working mainly 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday-Friday. Flexibility for additional coverage outside of these hours, including potential weekends and/or holidays, is also required as needed.
Position Responsibilities
Develop and implement safety, health and environmental policies, programs, and training at Keurig Dr Pepper to ensure the company is OSHA and EPA compliant.Inspect and audit areas of manufacturing plant, truck yard, customer sites and warehouse.Maintain EHS files and records to be always audit ready.Establish and maintain accurate recordkeeping of inspections, procedures, and JHA’s.Work closely with warehouse, transport, sales, delivery, and production personnel to accomplish departmental EHS goalsComplete daily, weekly, and monthly testing, inspections, and reporting for various EHS tasks.Establish a plan of action to promote employee involvement in accident prevention activities.Maintain a commitment-based safety culture; develop and analyze leading indicators for the prevention of accidents and create/execute a continuous improvement plan. Conduct specific EHS training for employees as needed (New hire training, OSHA, DOT, EPA, etc.)Establish, chart and trend statistical and performance-based measures that reflect safety and environmental accomplishments and deficiencies.Assist in accident investigations, root cause analysis, and ensure data is recorded in company’s safety management system.Maintain a system for reporting, monitoring, and correcting serious safety problems. Assist in reviewing, updating, and implementing EHS programs for the site.Conduct Ergonomic Assessments to prevent and tract workplace injuries.Knowledgeable in stormwater programWork with security contractors; ensure their scope of work provides adequate protection of the property, building and workforce. Facilitate 5S program, meetings, and training.Contribute to successful emergency planning and response; interact directly with Incident Commander and help execute Keurig Dr Pepper emergency plans. Travel to local customer sites up to 25% of the time.Collaborate with local human resources in the administration of Workers Compensation.Communicate and partner effectively with external medical providers, consultants, vendors, and contractors.Follow all Keurig Dr Pepper policies and procedures.Partner effectively with Corporate EH&S leaders Total Rewards Compensation: This is an exempt, salaried position paid on a biweekly cycle. Compensation is flexible and determined by the candidate's experience level. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in a safety or environmental related field from an accredited 4-year university preferred.3– 5 years of related safety/environmental experience in a manufacturing and or warehouse environment Strong understanding of warehouse safety management Strong understanding of EHS, DOT compliance, OSHA and accident investigation Intermediate to advanced expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPointExcellent oral and written communication skills and ability to work with a variety of stakeholders. Work in a team environment; occasionally work a flexible schedule.Ability to meet remote field employees for evaluations, coaching, observations, and training.
