Sr Engineer II, Electronics Sustaining

Job Summary

Responsible for sustaining and supporting electronic department consisting of electronic sustaining engineers, component engineers, layout engineers and electronic lab support staff.

Duties & Responsibilities

Prioritization and triage of incoming sustaining and support activities. Troubleshooting of electronic failures at system and component level.  Identification and implementation of circuit board yield enhancement opportunities. Identification and implementation of cost-reduction design opportunities. PCB schematic and layout entry. Perform and oversee hardware verification testing. Project status tracking and clear communication of deliverables, and timelines.

Minimum Qualifications

5+ years industry experience with product level development. Basic Knowledge of IPC standards for acceptability of electronic assemblies. Fundamental knowledge of electronic component and circuits: Power Supply, OpAmp, ADC, and DAC Circuits. Experience with SPI, I2C, JTAG, UART, USB Data Bus Peripherals. Experience with using Micro-Controllers.  Perform bench evaluation of circuit board designs. Able to perform PCB schematic capture / layout design.       Ability to handle multiple projects at one time. Able to clearly document and communicate concepts to both peers and non-electronic engineers. Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a Master’s Degree with at least 5 years of experience. Ability to work onsite in Irvine, CA Monday - Friday. 

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience in the design and development of medical devices, applications, or consumables.

Compensation:

The anticipated range for this position is $110,000 - $149,000. Actual placement within the range is dependent on multiple factors, including but not limited to skills, education, and experience.

Physical requirements/Work Environment

This position primarily works in an office environment. It requires frequent sitting, standing and walking.  Daily use of a computer and other computing and digital devices is required.  May stand for extended periods when facilitating meetings or walking in the facilities.  Some local travel is necessary, so the ability to operate a motor vehicle and maintain a valid Driver’s license is required.
