KBR is looking for an Engineering Documentation Specialist to support the design, development, testing, and deployment of NASA Goddard Space Flight Center’s (GSFC) next generation satellite laser ranging system, the Space Geodesy Satellite Laser Ranging (SGSLR) system.

Responsibilities:
Work alongside engineers to create technical design, operations, maintenance, & drawing documents for existing and future systemsCreate new and update any legacy documents already developedUse engineering documentation, operator and maintenance manuals, logistics data, and direction from engineers to create, write, revise, standardize, edit, review, and finalize documentsResearch, develop, and/or update content for printed manuals, Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs), I-types, and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) documents, illustrations, and parts breakdown manualsGather and research technical information, including engineering and development information, for use in documentation activities, prepare draft material for internal review by subject matter experts and final review by customerLead, Coach and Mentor Junior Technical Writing StaffMust exhibit flexibility of work hours to adjust to surge situations based on critical mission requirementsTravel may be required to support projects; this may involve airline travel***Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident and be able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC)***

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field20 + years of engineering related technical writing experienceIn lieu of formal education, 25 years of equivalent related experience. Specific contract requirements regarding education and experience will prevail.Ability to read & edit engineering drawings, blueprints, wiring diagrams and schematicsProven ability to prepare draft material for internal review by subject matter experts and final review by customerMust be flexible and have the ability to adapt to new information and programsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsPrevious experience researching, reviewing and understanding technical information as well as developing procedural information for technical documentationPrevious experience with video training and capturing images with a camera, photo manipulationWorking knowledge and experience with space, engineering support, or IT related projectsProficient in Microsoft office suite, Visio & Adobe Acrobat ProPreferred Experience & Skills:
CAD products, including but not limited to AutoCad & SolidWorksExperience working with NASA technical documents related to technical manual development, delivery, and integrated logistics supportBasic Compensation
$108,900-$201,900
The offered rate will be based on contract affordability and the selected candidate’s working location, knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience, and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation
KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
