**Our Purpose**
Medtronic Diabetes is establishing a manufacturing footprint with contract manufacturers in Ireland for CGMs and Pumps. Given the criticality of these partnerships, we are currently building our Product Innovation and Operations team for Ireland.
This team is partnering closely with our critical suppliers to set us up for success in both our current and next generation wearables. In this role, you will work closely with your Diabetes Innovation and Operations peers and our contract manufacturers to bring life changing new technologies to market thus improving the lives of people living with Diabetes.

**A Day in The Life Of:**
+ Plans, directs and implements all aspects of the company's capital procurement of high-volume manufacturing equipment ensuring alignment with Medtronic Diabetes’ strategic goals.
+ Engages with Process and Product Design teams early in the design process to integrate Design for Automation principles.
+ Working with internal and external partners to develop Molds, tooling and platform prototypes to demonstrate manufacturing capability.
+ Collaborate across Medtronic to ensure best practices are employed in product, process and tooling design and development.
+ Manages strong relationships with equipment suppliers to ensure effective equipment design and on-time delivery.
+ Identifies, plans, and maintains resource needs, cost center budget, employee assignment, and staffing decisions to optimize operations.
+ Monitors documentation maintenance across all phases of process and tooling development.
+ Travels, sometimes for extended periods, to international and domestic destinations to oversee equipment development, construction, purchase, implementation and validation activities.
+ Works, manages and engages remotely with multidisciplinary teams across multiple time zones and geographies.
+ Guides the conceptualization of new methodologies, materials, machines, processes and products.
+ Organizes the coordination of activities with outside suppliers and consultants to ensure timely delivery.
+ Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
+ Travel required up to 25%
**Key Skills & Experience**
+ Requires a level 8 degree and minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 7 years relevant experience.
+ Manages one or more medium scale, established programs with generally defined program plans and delivery methodologies. Is accountable for overall program process, performance, and customer satisfaction.
+ Possesses over 10+ years of experience in developing, transferring, implementing, managing and validating high-volume (+12MM), electromechanical automated assembly systems.
+ Participates in establishing program objectives, timelines, milestones, and budgets. Develops new policies and procedures that affect program management. Typically has budget accountability for one or more programs. Program decisions are generally recommended to higher level management
+ Problems and issues faced are difficult and undefined, and require detailed information gathering, analysis and investigation to understand the problem. Problems typically impact multiple workstreams, departments or specialties. Enhances programs management processes to improve overall program performance.
+ Leads meetings and communicates effectively with internal and external customers and vendors. Conducts briefings to higher level management team. Influences across functions and businesses while balancing divergent objectives to gain cooperation of other parties on program objectives and execution plans.
+ Leads, directs and reviews the work of a team of managers, experienced professionals and/ or vendors who exercise latitude and independence in their assignments. Establishes daily tasks necessary for successful program execution. Not directly responsible for hire or fire decisions and people management.
**Nice to Have**
+ Experience in regulated manufacturing environment, and ideally medical device industry.
+ Experience with complex, cross-functional projects in a matrixed organization.
+ Experience managing projects in a deadline driven environment.
+ Experience applying situational leadership concepts across various intra and inter-departmental matters.
