General Purpose

Responsible for the identification, quantification, valuation and development of engineering standards and grid modernization resource opportunities, providing analysis and information critical for their consideration in one or more internal projects.  Establishes and implements business objectives, strategies and plans.  Usually responsible for establishment and adherence to department budget. Support development of data management and acquisition to lead to better program design in the future. Lead, analyze and understand reporting requirements, guide and implement reporting to specific regulatory bodies.
 

Responsibilities

 

Manage highly complex program delivery across multiple states that have significant corporate and business unit impact.  Evaluate and establish program goals, develop delivery plans, negotiate timelines and schedules and monitor progress against plan. Participate with PacifiCorp Procurement in Vendor/Client negotiations for large multi-year vendor delivery contracts.  Direct vendor activities over long periods with significant budget implications. Manage interaction between internal and external stakeholders to ensure success of the  programs.  Responsible for the technical analysis and cost/benefit analysis of new programs or changes to existing programs, maintaining relevant measure performance assumptions, and making necessary measure assumption changes due to program evaluation information, changing market conditions and/or advancing codes and standards. Analyze program opportunities and assist in department strategies and positions. Responsible for customer impacts, regulatory inquiries, and other customer specific issues associated with program implementation, administration and delivery   Adhere to corporate procurement guidelines for the acquisition of resources. Develop and/or adhere to appropriate program, department, company and SOX financial controls and processes within programs assigned. Develop data management tactics and reporting protocols to track program progress, usage and how to integrate into larger data strategies Manage and coordinate resources, internally and externally needed to deliver programs.  Present program design, procedures, budget, controls and results to internal and external audiences ranging from executive to technical audiences.   Research and stay current on similar work performed by other utilities, and actively incorporate it into program designs, delivery and strategies as appropriate.  Manage program vendors as appropriate.   Develop and implement annual third party evaluations of programs assigned.  Validate monthly program expense and savings reports.  Measure and verify processes associated with assigned programs.  Deliver program objectives, and report accurate and timely program results.  Act as a lead/expert in the work group; train and mentor as required.
  Requirements

 

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or the equivalent combination of education and experience. A minimum of seven years professional experience with distribution or transmission technologies, resource evaluation and project management Advanced technical knowledge of utility system operation, distribution or transmission or substation technologies, smart grid technologies such as electric vehicles, distribution sensors, substation/distribution automation etc. Demonstrated ability to network and maintain partnerships with key customer accounts, trade allies, industry professionals, etc. Demonstrated ability to manage program vendors and other delivery contractors. Proficient with the use of personal computers including spreadsheet, database, word processing, and presentation applications to gather, analyze, and model information.   Communication and interpersonal skills to manage and motivate employees. Professional Engineering Registration (P.E.) preferred MBA Program Management Professional (PMP) and/or Program Management Professional (PgMP) Knowledge of Program Management Additional Information

This position is eligible for an annual discretionary performance incentive bonus of up to 15.00% of salary.
