Learn how Cognizant helps clients lead with digital at www.cognizant.com Roles and Responsibilities **Designing and Developing ETL Processes:** This involves designing and coding ETL workflows using Informatica PowerCenter or other ETL tools, ensuring efficient data flow from source to target. **Data Extraction, Transformation, and Loading:** Extracting data from various sources, transforming it according to business requirements, and loading it into a data warehouse or other target system. **Data Quality and Integrity:** Implementing data validation and cleansing techniques to ensure data accuracy and reliability. **Hadoop Integration:** Designing and developing data pipelines that utilize Hadoop technologies like HDFS, MapReduce, and Hive to handle large volumes of data. **Python Scripting:** Using Python to automate tasks, write custom transformations, and enhance ETL processes. **Performance Optimization:** Optimizing ETL processes for speed and efficiency, identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks. **Documentation and Maintenance:** Maintaining clear and comprehensive documentation of ETL processes and actively participating in the ongoing maintenance and enhancement of existing systems. **Collaboration:** Working with business stakeholders, other data engineers, and developers to ensure data quality and meet business requirements. Required Skills and Qualifications: · **Informatica PowerCenter (or similar ETL tool) Expertise:** Proficiency in designing, developing, and debugging ETL mappings and workflows. + **Hadoop Ecosystem Knowledge:** Experience with Hadoop technologies like HDFS, MapReduce, Hive, and Spark. + **Python Programming Skills:** Proficiency in Python for scripting, data manipulation, and automation. + **Data Modeling and Data Warehouse Design:** Understanding of data modeling concepts and experience with designing data warehouses. + **SQL Proficiency:** Experience with SQL for data querying, manipulation, and database interaction. + **Data Quality and ETL Best Practices:** Understanding of data quality principles and best practices for ETL development. + **Strong Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills:** Ability to identify and resolve complex issues within ETL processes. + **Communication and Collaboration Skills:** Ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
