Sr Export Compliance Officer

As a Senior Export Compliance Officer here at Honeywell, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our company operates within the boundaries of export laws and regulations. You will be accountable for developing and implementing export compliance policies, procedures, and strategies to ensure that our business units comply with all applicable export laws, regulations, and international trade controls. You will be working with the functions and businesses to ensure export compliance requirements are published in and adopted by business and/or functional processes. You will communicate procedural changes via email, through training, and other communication vehicles. You will support the Export Compliance investigations team in investigating and resolving compliance problems, questions, or complaints.

You will report directly to our Sr Export Compliance Manager, and you’ll work out of our Aguadilla, Puerto Rico location. Your expertise and knowledge will be crucial in minimizing risk and cost to the corporation while maintaining alignment with export standards. You will be performing or supporting export related audits including facilitation of data gathering requests. You will collaborate with other members of the overall Licensing organization on best practices and metrics/internal reporting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

\n\nDraft, prepare and review high volume of export license applications\nManage OCR-EASE recordkeeping requirements for complex export authorizations\nConducts reviews of export applications\nRelease orders against approved export licenses\nDevelop, edit, communicate procedures and related forms\nAssist with training and training development\nProvide guidance on export regulations\nMaintain record keeping\nCompliance resolution\nCommunicate clearly with business and functional personnel on export-related matters\n\n

US PERSON REQUIREMENT

\n

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have asylum or refugee status in the U.S.

YOU MUST HAVE

\n\n3+ years of experience in export compliance\n3+ years of experience with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR)\n1+ years of experience with SAP/GTS or other ERP systems and related export compliance modules\nAbility to read, write and speak English\n\n

\n\nBachelor's degree\nSix Sigma and process improvement knowledge\nExperience in drafting procedures, forms, reports, contracts, agreements, licenses, or presentations\nProactive, well-organized, highly motivated\nAbility to work independently once tasks are assigned\nExcellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills a plus\nExperience working in a compliance-related role, especially one involving export compliance\nExperience with MS Office\nExperience with developing or using digital tools\nMaster’s degree or juris doctorate a plus\n\n
