Job Summary:

Under general supervision, this position is responsible for compiling and analyzing financial information for a specific business unit and/or department within J.B. Hunt, and supporting senior management business decisions through financial and business analysis.

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

Analyze trends affecting budget needs.Analyze and review of the organization's financial performance by collecting, analyzing and reporting financial and statistical data.Create and develop reports and presentations on financial performance for internal use management and operations team.Create and utilize automated tools for the updating, analyzing and reporting of consolidated financial results.Develop innovative and effective solutions to problems in financial analysis, reporting and/or forecasting through individual effort or as part of a team.Support finance and accounting needs wherever called for within the organization.Train and mentor new employees.Work with internal staff and external vendors to clarify differences and reconcile conflicts.Provide temporary additional coverage for the team as a peer leader as the need arises.Manage special projects and be a point of contact for management.Act as primary contact on aligned financial reporting.Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

3-4 years in business administration, business analysis, finance, or military equivalent. AND/OR Demonstration of the following skills and abilities through education, certifications, military experience, or other experiences.Ability to make independent time-sensitive decisionsAbility to manage multiple prioritiesAbility to work both individually and as a teamAbility to create & maintain dashboards in Microsoft PowerBIAbility to utilize SQLAbility to quickly learn new technologies/software applicationsKnowledge of Financial & Accounting SystemsProficient in MS Office Suite, Excel and AccessAbility to successfully manage a P&LKnowledge of formal budgeting processes


Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelors in Business Administration, Transportation Logistics, Finance or related field.5+ years experience in Financial Analyst specific role.Risk Management experience.Insurance Accounting experience.Knowledge of Insurance Policy Terminology and Structure.Advanced Excel Skills

Compensation:

Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.  This position may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of the Company’s bonus and incentive plans, as applicable and in effect from time to time.
