Primary Essential Duties & Responsibilities include:
Financial:
Participate in the development, implementation and monitoring of operating and capital budgets.
Develop compensation plans for the Department.
Develop business plans for new faculty recruits, as well as special projects.
Manage and report on outpatient and inpatient professional services billing to department leadership.
Ensure the ongoing and timely forecast of the departments’ financial needs to department management.
Serve as a resource to the Department Administrator and Chair in matters of department financial data and budget variances.
Monitor and distribute financial reports to leadership.
Complete all cost center setup paperwork for the institution.
Review each cost center to ensure that it's spending on track according to the budget.
Oversees all expenses flowing through the cost center prior to sending on to Corporate Finance and maintains detailed spreadsheets on spending.
Responsible for budgeting all of the department restricted cost centers.
Administrative:
Provide administrative support to senior administrative and operational leadership to the Department.
Utilize excellent communication skills – must be able to motivate a diverse workforce and create a work environment that is exciting and supportive for all staff, faculty, residents, researchers, and most importantly our patients.
Effective working relationships outside the Department, including counterparts in other departments, the Dean’s Office and Hospital Administration.
Works in conjunction with the Department Administrator to update Kronos and assists with payroll questions across the Department.
Review, evaluate and interpret policies and other documents from all levels of the organization, and make recommendations to Administrator as appropriate.
Assists the Administrator and the Department Chair by drafting all Department Business Plans for the initial review process.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
High level financial planning analysis and reimbursement modeling.
Support the preparation of the annual patient revenue budgets.
Detailed reimbursement analysis and rate distribution.
Support of the regulatory reporting including surveys and cost reports.
Desired Skills/Abilities:
High level Microsoft Excel knowledge including pivot tables.
Highly motivated self-starter with ability to multi-task.
Healthcare finance and/or accounting background.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Mathematics and / or Statistics.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Extensive knowledge in data management systems specifically Microsoft Access and Excel are required.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Strong communication skills, written and oral.
