Sr Government Affairs Advisor, Political Action Committee
**Job Description** Are you passionate about making a difference in the world of healthcare policy? Blue Cross NC is looking for a dynamic and dedicated Sr. Government Affairs Advisor to lead our PAC initiatives. In this role, you'll be at the forefront of our PAC administration, driving analysis, marketing, recruitment, fundraising, compliance, and research efforts. + Develop and execute Blue Cross NC’s PAC strategy, fundraising and events. + Develop and manage marketing strategies and solicitation campaigns throughout the year to build awareness of and support for Blue Cross NC’s PAC. + Manage a political calendar to ensure the Government Affairs team is aware of important political events and engagements. + Prepare and disseminate key communications including a recurring PAC newsletter, a monthly touch base, and other updates on PAC activities and opportunities including how the PAC promotes Blue Cross NC strategic objectives. + Develop and maintain relationships with key political fundraisers. + Work with Manager, Government Affairs and other Government Affairs team members to support and advise the PAC Board on strategy and execution, including preparing PAC Board presentations. + Oversee day-to-day operations of PAC (donor database, budget, disbursement, compliance, analysis, governance, communications, reporting, vendors, banking, fundraising, growth, solicitation campaigns, correspondence, records, internal processes). + Ensure compliance with all federal and state rules, guidelines, and laws working directly with Blue Cross NC outside vendors and consultants. + Collaborate with internal corporate stakeholders and outside political counsel for successful management and execution. + Research and maintain understanding of PAC activity in North Carolina of similarly situated organizations within the industry and business community at large. + Support the tracking of legislative and political activity, including but not limited to voting records, introduced legislation, and committee activity. + Support all areas of Government Affairs related communications including presentations, written updates, and legislative summaries. **Hiring Requirements** + Bachelor’s degree in political science, Communications, or related area or equivalent work experience. + 3-5 years of experience in PAC administration, fundraising, compliance; or a combination of education and relevant experience. + Knowledge of FEC and State Board of Elections compliance, the legislative process at the federal, state, and local levels. **Preferred Skill** **s** + Demonstrated ability to establish, develop, and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders. + Demonstrated ability to work in diverse political climates with state and federal legislators and their political staff. + Experienced computer and software knowledge, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) + A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong decision-making skills. + Excellent communication skills, including one-on-one and in group settings. **Salary Range** At Blue Cross NC, we take great pride in a fair and equitable compensation package that reflects market-price and our starting salaries are typically planned near the middle of the range listed. Compensation decisions are driven by factors including experience and training, specialized skill sets, licensure and certifications and other business and organizational needs.
