SUMMARY:

Designs complex graphic materials, utilizing advanced graphics software as appropriate, for internal and external distribution. Consults with partners on designing and producing communication and advertising materials for the corporation. Analyzes and recommends new equipment, products, and procedures for the unit.  Manages relationships with external suppliers to ensure quality and timely graphic services at the best cost.  May provide guidance to other designers.

MAJOR DUTIES:

1.  Designs complex graphic materials, utilizing advanced graphics software as appropriate, for internal and external distribution.

2.  Consults with partners on designing and producing communication and advertising materials for the corporation.

3.  Analyzes and recommends new equipment, products, and procedures for the unit

4.  Reviews all projects to ensure production timeframes, corporate identity, and quality standards are met.

5.  Coordinates all photographic services for press releases, advertising brochures, etc.

6.  Works with management to determine whether internal or external sources should be used to complete projects in the most cost-effective and timely manner.

7.  Assists manager with managing relationships with external suppliers to ensure quality and timely graphics services.

8.  May provide guidance to other designers.

9.  Interacts with all levels throughout the organization and outside vendors to produce desired materials.

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS:

Is a technical expert with in-depth knowledge in the area of graphics design and current design technology usually acquired through formal education in graphics design or art and previous experience is required to produce and review projects. Proficiency must be demonstrated through a portfolio of illustrations, photographs, slides, etc. Creative ability is required to draw illustrations and create presentations. 

Tool skills:

Must be skilled in the following graphic / video / audio tools:  Adobe Creative Cloud (especially Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Animate, Audition), Articulate 360 (graphics and coding work in Storyline and Rise), Microsoft 365 (expert-level in PowerPoint), Dreamweaver, Camtasia, and Captivate
 Differentiating skills:  SharePoint site development, MS Power Platform (especially Power Apps and Power Automate), HTML / XML / WCC, 3D-graphics, and AI-generated video / learning development tools
 

EXPERIENCE:

A College or University degree and/or relevant proven work experience is preferred. Related industry credentials a plus (e.g., in visual design, graphic communications, multi-media design, etc.).
