As a Senior HSE Engineer at Honeywell Sensing Solutions, you will be a key leader in driving health, safety, and environmental (HSE) excellence across our manufacturing facility. You will provide expert guidance, technical support, and leadership to ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate HSE requirements while fostering a culture of safety, awareness, and accountability.

You will report to the Sr HSE Manager and work out of our manufacturing site in Boyne City, MI in person.  

Key Responsibilities

\n\nLead and support HSE programs, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and Honeywell policies.\nDrive continuous improvement in HSE culture and performance through proactive engagement with employees and leadership.\nDevelop and implement world-class HSE management systems, integrating best practices into daily operations.\nConduct risk assessments, identify hazards, and implement effective mitigation strategies.\nOversee PPE programs, machinery safety/LOTO, ergonomics, air permitting, hazardous and non-hazardous waste and wastewater management, and hazard communication.\nDeliver regulatory, corporate, and site-specific HSE training.\nLead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action verification.\nPerform internal audits and drive compliance initiatives.\nCollaborate with regulatory agencies, ensuring adherence to evolving HSE requirements.\n\n

U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS

\n

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.

YOU MUST HAVE

\n\nMinimum of 5 years of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) experience.\nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\n\n

WE VALUE

\n\nBachelor of Science degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Engineering or related field.\nMichigan Industrial Stormwater operator certification is a plus\nStrong expertise in occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations.\nExperience implementing and managing HSE programs in a manufacturing environment.\nAbility to analyze risks, develop solutions, and drive a culture of safety.\nExcellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.\nKnowledge of Six Sigma tools and behavior-based safety strategies is a plus.\nAbility to travel occasionally up to 5%.\n\n
