Job Description Summary

Responsible for large transformational solution architecture. A key contributor to business unit/sub-business unit technical roadmap and strategy. Provides key platform analysis and viability assessments. Maintains line of sight into what the competitive technology marketplace is delivering in relevant arenas. Has specific knowledge or expertise typically gained through formal education or equivalent experience. Uses expertise to provide guidance to others as a project manager or consultant. Requires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in own job discipline and basic knowledge of related job disciplines. Solves complex problems. Works independently; receives minimal guidance. May lead projects or project steps within a broader project or may have accountability for on-going activities or objectives. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience

Major Duties:

1. Translates key transformational business initiatives into appropriate IT solution sets
2. Creates and maintains key technical roadmaps and technical strategies, aligned with specific business unit’s key initiatives
3. May serve as objective escalation point for conflicts during the development process (between business and development)
4. Helps ensure that the integrity of solutions are maintained throughout delivery for the purpose of realization of the desired business outcome
5. Assists the Engagement Manager in consulting and planning current and future capital investments
6. Provides new business and acquisition consulting when needed
7. Solves complex problems
8. Takes a new perspective on existing solutions
9. Exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information
10. Works within broad guidelines and policies

Knowledge:

• Creative and analytical thinker with strong knowledge of a specific product, function or client segment. Experience in functional and technical architectural trade-off analysis
• Broad knowledge of the larger business and operational relationships as well as current and contemporary technology architectures, platform paradigms and integration strategies
• Broad knowledge of trends in the related industry with regard to established and emerging solution vendors and service providers, third parties and key influencers
• Requires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in own job discipline and basic knowledge of related job disciplines
• Applies best practices and how own area integrates with others
• Is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
• Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus and able to effectively communicate in various instances

Experience:

• Seasoned experience in the technology and/or financial services industry
• Bachelor’s degree and/or CFP, CIMA, CFA certification or an equivalent combination of education and work experience required
• Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience
• May lead small projects with manageable risks and resource requirements
