If you are a Quality Engineering professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Copeland has an exciting opportunity for you! As a Supplier Quality Engineer, based in our Sidney, OH, you will be responsible for the overall quality performance of supplied components within assigned commodities (Small Stampings, Tubes/Fittings, Heat Exchangers, Weld Wire).
As A Sr./Lead Supplier Quality Engineer, You Will:
Evaluate suppliers by leading/conducting quality system audits using the Copeland Supplier Audit (CSA)Assist with source selection and development. Audit and evaluate technical capabilities of existing and potential suppliers.Monitor and report supplier quality performance trends periodically and implement actions as needed to achieve quality objectives.Process, review and disposition PPAPs, deviations, audit findings, and supplier corrective actions. Assure that supplier controls and processes are capable of consistently producing components meeting all requirements. Assure supplier PFMEA, Control Plans, and other process documentation is adequate.Develop and support suppliers through visits, CSA quality audits, process audits, lean projects, providing manufacturing process technical guidance, and other means as appropriate. Follow up with suppliers to assure corrective actions are implemented.Conduct internal and external training necessary to improve supplier quality.Support new product development programs and supplier transitions. Participate in design reviews and provide commodity related design improvement suggestions for global sourcing, design/manufacturing optimization, and process/tool design.Develop and achieve annual objectives supporting overall department and company objectives.REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCES & SKILLS:
4 Year technical degree or 2 year technical degree with equivalent experienceQuality engineering experience in: APQP, Flow Charting, Control plans, PFMEA, SPC, MSA(Gage R&R),Quality Auditing; System and process
Knowledge of Quality Systems, such as ISO 9001 and/or IATF16949
Proficient ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications including GD&T
Ability to travel up to 30% at a time domestically and internationally

Certifications in ASQ (CQA, CQE, CSQP)Understanding of manufacturing processes used in assigned commoditiesAdvanced statistics, problem solving, corrective action, and process improvement techniques.Understanding/knowledge of Lean principles (Kaizen, Std work, Kanban, VSM, Continuous Flow, 5S+1, Poke-yoke, waste elimination)High level communication and leadership skills. This role has the flexibility of a hybrid work from home option up to three days a week and a core hour schedule. You can choose to flex your start and stop times given you are working during the core hours of 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM. About Our Location
Our newly renovated Sidney campus has 1M square feet of manufacturing floor with an additional 120k square feet of leading-edge lab facilities. This location is the headquarters for our HVACR Americas business unit. Through our many years of compressor expertise, our products help bring comfort and convenience to refrigeration, commercial, industrial, and residential spaces. Approximately 1600 employees work in Sidney, who all support a multitude of business functions.
