Sr Learning and Development Program Manager

Role Summary Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Learning Experience Design & Technology, this person will play a critical role in driving operational excellence within Rivian & Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies. The role involves a blend of project management to maximize efficiency and impact of learning teams, and instructional design skills to craft innovative learning experiences. Responsibilities Project Management (60%)   Maintain a portfolio of learning templates and employee enablement tools that drive self-service learning for employees Design, build, implement, and manage standard processes to build efficiency across the Learning & Talent function (central learning intake processes, internal landing pages, etc) Collaborate with L&D team members and stakeholders to define priority project objectives, scope, deliverables, and success metrics Streamline project workflows and identify opportunities for process improvement across learning teams Act as the primary liaison between the L&D team and internal/external stakeholders Project manage and support the communication of new programs, learning systems, and tool launches Gather data from L&D platforms, post-training assessments, employee performance data, and other relevant sources to drive improvements in learning outcomes Highly proficient with project management tools, publishing tools, and software applications (Google products, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.)   Instructional Design (40%) Create learning briefs outlining learning strategy, course objectives, content, assessment, and evaluation criteria Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop engaging and effective instructional materials for online courses, training programs, and in-person learning experiences Utilize learning management systems (Cornerstone preferred) to manage course content, track learner progress, and analyze learning outcomes Scope ad-hoc learning requests and make recommendations that solve business needs Ensure that all instructional content is aligned with learning objectives, design principles, and best practices for online learning Organize and assist in developing learning manuals, pre-work, and course evaluation procedures Proficient with eLearning and video authoring software (Articulate Storyline and Rise, Camtasia, AI video tools, etc.) Qualifications 5+ years experience in successfully managing and implementing large-scale cross-functional initiatives 5+ years of instructional design and digital learning design experience supporting a corporate learning function. Global experience is a plus 2+ experience in analyzing data to identify areas for improvement within learning programs Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Learning and Development, Education, or a related field Professional project management certification such as PMP is preferred Proficiency in project management tools Working knowledge of Learning Management Systems Proven success in managing large-scale L&D initiatives from concept to completion Proven track record of operating independently, demonstrating creativity, strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment Flexible in-office presence is required based on business needs & must be within a 50 mile radius of an office location in (Palo Alto, CA, El Segundo, CA, Irvine, CA, Normal, IL, Atlanta, GA & Plymouth, MI) Pay Disclosure Salary Range for California based applicants: $117,200 - $146,500 annually (Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location and other factors permitted by law).
