Sr Legal Contract Administrator

**Description:**
Independently reviews, drafts, and negotiates a broad range of commercial contracts between the organization and third parties, under the supervision of attorneys in the legal department. Ensures contracts comply with applicable laws and Valero policies and procedures. Acts as liaison between various company departments to negotiate contracts that reflect the intent of all departments involved. May act as a liaison between the organization and customers/vendors, including participation in precontract discussions, contract negotiations, and contract changes.
* Drafts, reviews, analyzes, negotiates, and processes contracts and related documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with Valero policies and procedures and to get the most benefit to the company possible out of any contract considered.
* Typical contracts reviewed: purchase orders, service agreements, travel services contracts, confidentiality agreements, and work agreements, among others.
* Assists various departments in managing contracts entered into by Valero.
* Prepares reports to attorneys in the legal department related to contracts, projects, and other areas.
* Reads and analyzes contracts for potential risks, communicates with appropriate departments.
* Able to communicate information effectively to the appropriate company departments, to the other parties involved in the contract, and to stakeholders to keep everyone apprised of contract-related matters.
* Updates contracts as necessary and maintains contract files.
* Monitors limits of authority.
* Manages data in TeamConnect legal matter management system.
* This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay.
**Qualifications:**
* Bachelor’s or higher level degree - in related field required.
* 5 years of experience in contract administration required.
* Able and willing to work on-site, in-person at the Valero San Antonio location, required.
* Certified Professional Contract Manager preferred.
Position level and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
