Sr Legal Support Assistant

Schedule: Regular FT 40 Hours Per Week

Under the direction of the Legal Services Manager, the Senior Legal Support Assistant will act as lead in preparing and ensuring the time-sensitive Superior Court documents and supplemental documents that are required in petitioning a patient for court-ordered evaluation and treatment in Counties and Tribal Courts throughout Arizona. This includes review and oversight of processes and documents prepared by Legal Support Assistants to ensure filings are completed to maximize the efficiency of patient care needs.   Hourly Pay Range: $20.52 - $30.27   Qualifications Education: Requires a high school diploma or GED. An associate or bachelor’s degree in business, legal, or similar field is strongly preferred. Experience: Must have a minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible legal experience with the Court or Title 36 involuntary process that demonstrates an understanding of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Experience in editing and reviewing data and legal documents submitted for filing with the Superior Court. Pursuant to Arizona Administrative Code R9-10-306 CHAPTER 10 of the Dept. of Health Services, personnel must be at least 21 years of age, or at least 18 years of age and licensed or certified under A.R.S. Title 32 and providing services within the personnel member’s scope of practice. Certification/Licensure: Notary Public CPI certification or eligible to obtain certification. Requires possession of and ability to retain a current, valid AZ-issued driver's license in good standing. Must carry the AZ legally required minimum insurance coverage on personal vehicle at all times. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must possess extensive computer skills and be efficient in MS Office suite such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio, and Access. Must possess excellent verbal and written interpersonal and communication skills, including knowledge of exceptional grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Requires excellent organizational skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality standards. Must demonstrate extensive knowledge of Title 36 processes and excellent judgment when working with physicians, attorneys, superior court personnel, and staff, as well as demonstrating ability to set priorities for self and team members and work as a team member. Must be detail oriented. Requires the ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English, including medical and legal transcription experience. Requires the ability to have a reliable form of transportation to travel.
