The Global Supply Management (GSM) Function is recognized as a critical function for business success. It delivers the training, tools and opportunities needed to create innovative solutions for the function & the corporation. Role Purpose:
This role has leadership and strategic responsibility within GSM’s Indirect Materials sourcing organization. The overall objective of this role is to insure that Corning obtains the maximum value (price, quality, service) of materials and services procured in the MRO & Waste Management space. This role is a key owner of setting functional activities and strategies to support industry and supplier research supplier selection process including the establishment of category councils, supplier performance management, negotiation, and management of MRO & Waste Management contracts.
Key Responsibilities:
Drive the global supply management strategy for supplier spend exceeding $500M annually. Responsible for leading global cross-functional teams in support of BU/Category Management strategies and initiatives. Provide strategic direction for the sourcing strategy to the Category Management team to enhance the product and market knowledge as it relates to market conditions. Drive efforts to achieve total cost solutions for the end to end supply chain. Responsible for all elements of category management, including: strategic understanding of the supply market place, pricing and term negotiations, preparation and analysis of Global/Regional bid proposals/packages, supplier selection, negotiation and communication with users across functions Build a high performance team; hire and retain the right talent in the right roles; sets goals, delegates work, hold reports accountable Implement value driven programs that achieve internal savings targets and deliver enterprise wide process improvement. Continually address and resolve organizational barriers with agile decision making and outstanding communication of risk versus reward. Provide thought leadership and the ability to execute on global and regional programs.
Experience:
7 – 15 years in a global manufacturing environment. Experience leading cross functional teams in a matrixed organizational structure.
Education:
Bachelors degree in Supply Chain or equivalent degree required MBA preferred or equivalent work experience

The range for this position is $155,614.00 - $213,969.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
