Location/Division Specific InformationThe position supports the Life Sciences Solutions Group and is based in Carlsbad, CA.

How you will make an impact:

As Sr. Manager- Group Accounting, you will be responsible for compliance with the Company's accounting policies while also supporting various group accounting functions. This is an opportunity to work cross-functionally and partner with the business to build scalable processes and enable growth for Thermo Fisher Scientific.

What you will do:Supporting Group Controllership functions, including remediation of internal control deficienciesApplying and implementing Company's AR, credit and revenue policyTechnical accounting research of complex issues to ensure accurate accounting treatmentSupport adherence to important metrics especially around AR, bad debt and DSOSupport maintenance of complete and accurate standard operating procedures and SOX related internal control documentation and AAMEnsure that global accounting functions are being performed as stated in company procedures, financial close schedule, and in accordance with US GAAP and SOXCoordination with external and internal auditors on audits and quarterly reviewsIdentify and drive initiatives for continuous process improvement

How you will get here:

EducationBachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or BusinessAdvanced Qualification Preferred (CPA)Experience9+ years of dynamic accounting experience with at least 5 years of management experience; prior experience with shared services is highly desiredProven understanding of U.S. GAAP with demonstrated advanced accounting and technical skillsExperience with JDE E1 and Hyperion Financial Management preferredKnowledge, Skills, AbilitiesExcellent interpersonal and collaboration skills and knows how to influence without authority.Strong written communication skills, along with clear and concise verbal skills, are required.Lead multiple assignments, has good judgment, and prioritizes projects and time efficientlyContinuous improvement mindset with a successful track record of optimizing processesAbility to thrive in a large, matrixed, international organization and have the ability to work cross-functionally with individuals and teams

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $130,000.00–$194,950.00.
