About the Team
Are you interested in a new adventure managing a team of dedicated engineers building Developer Tooling? The Product Developer Tooling organization develops software and tools to support all of Workday Product Development and Testing and is extremely passionate about improving developer productivity.As a Software Development Manager in our Tooling organization, you will be at the foundation of Workday’s technology, leading a team that builds the software that empowers other engineers across Workday to rapidly develop, test and deliver high quality products. Our team currently serves the almost 3,000 strong Workday development community by providing scalable development and testing tools that are vital to support an efficient and continuous delivery platform. We have a work environment that is not driven by external product launches, but is driven by the needs of our own development community, which allows us to focus on producing well thought-out solutions that enhance our development environment, automated testing and delivery pipeline.
About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic Software Development Manager for our Chennai office to help build and lead our Tooling initiatives and scrum teams. You will be in a key position to better serve our community of users across Workday into the future. You will lead and inspire high-performing teams at Workday, fostering a diverse and inclusive environment where employees are engaged and empowered. About You
Basic Qualifications15+ Years of overall experience in software development
With 6+ years of proven experience in product development as an individual contributor
With 3+ Years of demonstrated ability in software engineering leadership or management roles
Proven track record of coordinating the development and delivery of complex software projects
Proficient working with agile methodologies such as Scrum & Kanban
Ability to plan, estimate, prioritize, schedule, execute and deliver on the Product roadmap
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
Strong technical background with good analytical skills
Passionate about fostering an inclusive and collaborative team culture that empowers career growth
