Job Summary:The Disney Entertainment & ESPN Technology (DEE&T) Quality & Insights team is seeking a Software Engineering Senior Manager who has a true passion for solving problems and growing talent. This software engineering senior manager will help us develop tools and processes that support a large variety of Disney software products on web, mobile, and OTT platforms. We are looking for an engineering leader who is excited to push the envelope and grow with our team.

Be responsible for building team skills, motivating and leading diverse and global teamsLeading the successful management of multiple product quality teamsBeing responsible for the final delivery and release of productsProviding strategic input on future initiatives with stakeholders and other engineersContribute to the development and maintenance of one or more suites of test automation using a structured programming language like Java, Python, or JavaScript, and its associated pre-production execution environments.Contribute to the design & implementation of test automation frameworks with input from senior engineers by checking-in valuable, clean code regularly that adds new features and capabilitiesBecome a member of our Quality Engineering team, driving increasing quality through innovation, automated test creation, Manual testing when required, curiosity and thoughtful debate.Contribute to the successful implementation of solutions for complex technical problems with DE&ET engineering teams, and driving the deployment of Disney backend and guest-facing products at Disney Quality.Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:Manage a mixed team of full times and contracted engineers working remote and hybrid in multiple locationsCollaborate with product and engineering managers on the quality delivery and responsible for releases of supported productsCoordination of complex tasks with external teams & stakeholdersDrive the planning, design and implementation of both short terms and long-term projectSupport the budget and resource planning needsBe responsible for reporting project and team progress to both internal and external delivery teams, manage expectations and KPI’sBe able to lead and manage agile teamsProviding end-user and developer training on automation tools and frameworksInvestigating and resolving any framework, tool or execution of environmental issues affecting our servicesBecoming a core member of our Quality Engineering team, helping others increase productivity and quality through innovation, and championing the core value of Disney QualityRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience10+ years of progressive experience in a testing role with a mix of manual and automation duties, including designing and developing manual and automated testing of front end and backend services using a structured programming language.Expertise in one of the following programming languages: Node/JavaScript, Java, PythonExperience with system and unit testing frameworksExcellent problem-solving skills.Highly skilled in project manager practices and leading QA teams, mentorship and setting technical directionsExcellent collaboration skills and ability to use standard software development lifecycle (SDLC) tools such as Jira and Confluence, version control systems (e.g. Git), and CI/CD tools and pipelines.Organized, detail-oriented and able to deliver project tasks on time.Strong verbal and written communication skills. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
