What is the opportunity?
The Senior Manager, Technology Third Party Supplier Risk Management for RBC Bank is responsible for the management of a first line of defense (1LoD) technology supplier risk including monitoring and managing technology supplier risk assessments, control design, key performance and risk indicators, issues/deficiencies, and corrective actions. This role will partner with the business supplier management team to renew Technology supplier contracts, manage supplier business continuity/disaster recovery, verify data backup schedules/restoration testing and ensure vendor hosted asset inventories are maintained. This role will collaborate with 2LoD and 3LoD teams during review and challenge sessions as well as internal audit reviews. This role functions within the RBC Bank Office of Technology Risk & Controls team which holistically is responsible for establishing, enhancing, and sustaining an effective Risk and Control environment for Technology in accordance with RBC Bank’s IT Risk Management Frameworks/Policies/Standards and US Regulatory Compliance.
What will you do?
Execute on Technology Supplier Management risk routines based on Supplier Risk Management onboarding and schedule of reviews to ensure controls for Technology Third parties are appropriately documented and operating effectivelyParticipate and collaborate on Technology Supplier Risk Management Assessments (SRMA)Manage updates and reviews of the RBC Bank Technology Intra-Group Arrangement (IGA)Review and manage issues that result from RBC Bank Supplier Control Assessments (SCAs) and SAAS Supplier Risk Assessments (SSRAs)Maintain current RBC Bank IT supplier list with mapping to IT applications inclusive of Intragroup arrangements with RBC EnterpriseEnsure new and updated supplier contracts are reviewed for technology capabilities, service levels, disaster recovery, incident management, data backups, issue remediation, etc.Monitor and review results of disaster recovery exercises for RBC Bank vendors to ensure recovery time/point objectives are met and ensure testing is conducted in accordance with contracts and partner with the RBC Disaster Recovery team to ensure internal RBC Bank applications participate in disaster recovery testing and recovery objectives are metPrepare executive-level reporting on the IT Third Party Supplier Risk Management, Disaster Recovery and Data Backups for management risk committeesRemediate audit issues including review of control deficiencies and provide closing evidence by committed dates for Technology supplier issuesPartner with RBC Technology teams to ensure RBC Bank applications have defined data backup schedules and restoration testingManage and report Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) for Third Party Risk Assessments, Disaster Recovery, and Data Backups for RBC BankWhat do you need to succeed?
Must-have
University degree or equivalent experience5-7 years of experience in a risk and control function such as risk management, internal audit, compliance4+ years in the financial services or other regulated industries3+ years of experience with supplier/vendor management or procurementTechnology savvy / self-sufficient with excellent working knowledge of Confluence, SharePoint, MS Office applications (including Excel and PowerPoint), Archer, Tableau/Power BIStrong understanding of Third-Party Risk including but not limited to supplier management standards, methodologies and audit requirementsNice-to-have
