Role Overview:

As Sr Manager of the PROCT HVM Metals/Implant/AMAT ERM team, you will be responsible for driving improvements to manufacturing capability, delivering industry benchmark methods at the lowest cost, and managing the execution of global business processes in your unit process area(s) responsibility. You will execute this by focusing on Front End Operations big rock performance optimization and ensuring priorities are aligned to Micron’s business plan and Strategic Objectives.

Objectives:

Your objective is to leverage global internal and external resources to enable max-out, productivity improvement, yield improvement, enable equipment roadmaps, execute business processes, drive network process and equipment alignment to achieve world-class manufacturing performance. Examples include unit process optimization, discovery/implementation of novel process control schemes, leveraging suppliers to achieve benchmark manufacturing performance, equipment utilization optimization, throughput optimization, and continuous improvement project prioritization.

Responsibilities:

Collaboration: Interface with TD engineering teams, worldwide procurement teams, high volume manufacturing engineering teams, and global equipment suppliers to drive module level capability forward and establish area improvement roadmaps.Cross-functional Process Organization: Build a cross-functional process organization for your unit process. These teams will interact in the early stage of product development/ramp to support a bottom-up yield improvement path.Leadership: Lead all max-out and productivity improvement activities across Micron. Lead equipment performance improvement activities from inside and through suppliers. Be a leader for safety and sustainability in all aspects of Micron equipment roadmap.Cost Competitiveness: Accelerate the path to Micron’s technology and cost leadership in the industry. Deliver hardware and productivity solutions to meet NAND and DRAM business plans.Innovation: As a process expert in CVD/PVD Process, create innovative process and equipment solutions to meet the needs of the technology. Collaborate and develop ideas originating from process development teams in Boise, Japan, Taiwan, and Singapore. Seek out technology trends related information inside and outside Micron and help define roadmaps and strategy.Technology Development: Partner with Technology Development and Manufacturing fab for effective transfer, pilot ramp, and ongoing development to achieve TECHNODE gate criteria. Play an active role in keeping priorities aligned with peers in TD and manufacturing fabs. Engage with Technology Development and High-Volume manufacturing and lead worldwide alignment efforts across technology to improve module effectiveness. Partner with TD/Fab/Suppliers to develop and accelerate FOAK hardware maturity in support of TTMCY and product ramp goals to deliver benchmark equipment performance. Participate with Boise TD peers on equipment technology choices for upcoming nodes and drive competitive pricing, machine matching, and equipment technology roadmaps.Consultation: Play an active consultant role on MOR, BAP, Doc2 related topics and new tool evaluation proposals.Matrix Organization: Lead a matrix organization which enhances collaboration with teams.Team Management: Hire, develop, mentor, and manage a team of highly capable process engineers. Create a culture of innovation and tenacity within the group to meet the needs of accelerated technology cadence. Provide regular feedback to your team members on performance, developing a career plan, and mentoring the team members to support their professional development through Micron’s performance planning and appraisal process.Supplier Engagement: Engage with suppliers to develop the process and equipment needed to meet Micron’s technology roadmap. Lead and initiate innovation projects through patents and technical papers. Promote growth and a winning mindset across the larger organization.Communication and Collaboration: Communicate and collaborate with partners both locally and globally. Strict adherence to Micron Intellectual Property protection policy is a must.

Program Management:

Drive accountability through clear communication, informal feedback, effective project management, and appropriate use of metrics.Develop metrics for benchmarking supplier performance. Identify and share BKMs across departments and sites.Determine short-term and long-term supplier-related goals for OCT and fabs in line with company goals.Organize and align Micron priorities across sites for your Supplier ERM.Leverage industry benchmarking data to set targets for Micron manufacturing and your supplier ERM program.Leverage manufacturing tool evaluation program and partner with Supplier to ensure all available tools and upgrades are visible to the KEG teams for priority alignment.Ensure operational goals drive year-over-year COO improvement.

Program Leadership:

Drive OPEX program through ERM goals, hold Supplier accountable for ERM project and program success.Collaborate with central purchasing as a technical resource to drive account issues.Collect and update information for account summaries as needed to supplement procurement scorecard process.Provide tactical support to the Fab for performance, utilization, escalations, and long-term downs.

Program Communication:

Communicate ERM program and project status globally, internally to Micron and externally to Supplier.Maintain a strong and open relationship with peers and managers in other functional areas and Supplier.Periodically follow up with management team to ensure ERM goals are being met and align to Micron Big Rocks.Provide regular OCT updates to review the current status and future goals and objectives of the program.Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and be open to suggestions or questions.Be prepared for meetings and use conference call etiquette when appropriate.

Training and Development:

Partner with other Supplier ERM program managers to share best known processes and procedures for managing the projects and program to drive success in all supplier ERM programs within Micron.Work with Supplier and Micron Training groups to develop advanced training methods.Work with fabs and Supplier to ensure local training needs on Supplier tools are met.Ensure systems are in place to advance company, group, and individual training needs.

Safety Requirements:

Ensure all meetings and goals instill a culture of safety between Micron and the supplier.Communicate problems or concerns to the appropriate resource in a timely manner and escalate as required.Maintain safety knowledge of equipment and materials regarding Supplier tooling.Ensure appropriate training and documentation is available for equipment and materials safety.Encourage a safe working environment.
