Position Summary:

The Global Business Selling organization is responsible for the strategic direction of our business selling proposition and the success of the thousands of business sellers, large and small, that sell on the eBay platform.

We are looking for a Senior Manager of Strategy & Ops to support our global commercial programs.

The commercial programs team is tasked with understanding the performance of the portfolio of business sellers across regions and implementing programmes that support survival, scale and growth. This is a high-profile role which will execute against strategic initiatives, business plans and day to day operations that will deliver impactful business change, driving a customer-centric organization that works together to drive growth.

The role demands a dual mentality: both that of a strategic leader—who has a deep understanding of the dynamics of two-sided marketplaces, can break down tough problems into clear frameworks, operate in ambiguity, and possesses strong data intuition and executive-ready communications—as well as someone who can move quickly and decisively as an embedded operator not afraid to roll up their sleeves.

What You Will Do:

Define & Monitor Metrics: Work with analysts to build and develop key performance indicators to track business performance and identify key points of leverage within commercial programmes. Responsible for monitoring metrics, identifying and understanding root causes behind the metrics movement, and presenting these insights across all levels of the organisation.

Develop Strategic Frameworks: Develop frameworks with key partners to further improve existing commercial programmes and develop further solutions to further develop a top class customer experience.

Guide Strategy: Lead across teams to discover and align on commercial programme must wins across process, company strategy and seller experience.

Collaborate: Drive strong partnership with key partners throughout the organization. Partner with leaders to understand strategic priorities, lead end-to-end solution innovation across the organization, ensuring partner teams are following strategic and operational best practices.

Be Accountable: Define business objectives and measure progress in achieving results; demonstrate strong commitment towards goals and driving complex projects.

What You Will Bring:

A strong customer focus

Experience with planning and execution, taking a project from idea to full implementation in a large complex organization. A consulting / strategy background is preferred.

Results oriented with a consistent record in managing metrics with impact on business performance and an analytical approach 

Proven record of delivery and an ability to excel in a dynamic and fast paced environment, being able to influence and collaborate across teams

Ability to articulate vision and purpose for the initiatives and programs as it relates to long-term goals and objectives

Experience with Project, Programme management & delivery

Strong communication skills (both long form and slides), quickly able to gain trust and confidence with people at all levels

Able to articulate challenges, blockers, problems effectively and be able to work through solutions with partners to overcome them

Strong excel and PowerPoint skills, with the ability to tell a story across levels

Highly organized, detailed problem solver who thrives on being efficient

Passionate for attention to detail

Comfortable and hands-on with data, analytics, and modeling

Desire to “roll up your sleeves” to perform all functions from administrative processing to leading change initiatives

Solid project management skills, having managed and successfully delivered multiple, complex projects timely and on-budget

Highly inclusive and can build relationships across different countries at various levels 

Exposure to an ecommerce/ marketplaces is advantageous 

Minimum Qualifications:

BA/BS/MBA degree, with 8+ years of relevant experience within two or more functional areas

Data analysis expertise with the ability to find the trends and implications within data to inform sound decisions

Creative problem-solving skills

Focused execution, resourcefulness, and able to deliver results in a fast-paced environment

Experience acting as the voice of the customer and channeling many points of view, synthesizing them to drive alignment even in times of friction or disagreement

Experience communicating insights through data with senior-level executives

Experience with complex CRM tools in a large organization.

Strong customer and partner empathy

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York is expected in the range below.

$126,800 - $187,550

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
