Purpose:
Custodian of ESG Planning and Reporting. The role will own up the planning for achieving the short term / medium term / long term goals for Diageo India and project managing the achievements against the same.
Compliance with regulatory and technical literature (SASB / other Indian standards / literature), Owning assurance as per India regulatory requirements and Diageo global standards.
The role will set up a process and policies for best-in-class ESG framework, which includes, processes which are sustainable with common interpretation and automation for data integrity, Controls and accountability with the respective stakeholders within the organization.
Act as value-add business partner for ESG stakeholders within the company and embed ESG in “Everything and Everywhere”
Key Stakeholders:
CEO / India EXCOM / Diageo India and Group ESG Team/ Financial Controller / Supply Finance Team Investor Relations and Company Secretary / GAR, CARM, Statutory auditors, Board of Directors, Audit Committee / ESG Committee.
Key Responsibilities
Process / Policy / Controls:
Lead ESG Metrics process transformations: Design and review of process documentation including flow charts, scope/boundary definitions, roles & responsibilities matrix, policies, risk & controls framework and KPIs for data collection, processing, review & validation, aggregation, assurance and reporting of ESG metrics.Ensure integration of the reported ESG metrics with reporting related to financial / secretarial / HR / other areas as applicable as applicableAdvise Metric owners and Data owners across multiple functions on processes and controls improvements in ESG processes; support in identifying gaps and designing adequate remediation plansGenerate controls awareness and provide trainings to Metric owners, Data owners and functional teams on process and controls requirementsPeriodically assess controls related matters and topics impacting the ESG disclosuresAssurance:
Coordinate with external assurance providers on attestation work, and with Internal Controls and Internal Audit on internal reviewsAutomation:
Advise on system implementations impacting process and controls over ESG reportingIdentify opportunities for automation, standardization and simplification to drive efficiencies and improvement to ways of workingBest in Class approach:
Demonstrate knowledge of the evolving landscape of ESG related regulations across the world (e.g., SEC, EU CSRD, and other country regulations related to ESG).Stay up to date on sustainability industry trends and reporting frameworksProvide direction, mentorship, and support to other functional colleagues in areas of own expertiseEffective communication, project management, and presentation skills.Diversity statement
