Job Description Summary
The Sr Manager Food Safety Training & Compliance provides vision, leadership and technical expertise for Lamb Weston Global Food Safety, FSMA, Food Defense and Food Safety Programs and training. This position requires an in-depth knowledge of Food Safety principles, methods and technology. This position requires effective communication skills to work with and train a variety of global cross-functional stakeholders (FSQ, Operations/Supply Chain, Maintenance, Engineering, Sanitation staff, and Regulators). The individual will be required to partner and spearhead food safety culture change with Lamb Weston Stakeholders across all LW Enterprise Pillars in the areas of Food Safety programs, training and continuous improvement projects.

25% - Food Safety Training & Programs & Metrics
Ensure effective training and programs to set the foundation for all food safety programs and processes. To do so collaborate with all Corporate Food Safety stakeholders (FSQ Ops, Microbiology, Toxicology, Supplier Compliance, and Internal Auditing) for contribution to Food Safety programs and training.Lead team in creating Food Safety training programs and development of employees in their knowledge and responsibilities in the areas of FSMA, GMP’s, Allergens, Microbiology, Sanitary Design, BRCGS, and Food Safety Culture.Oversee and guide the management of the collection and presentation of key performance indicators (KPIs), metrics, Food Safety and Quality data, surveys, policies and procedures, Food Safety and Quality Manuals and other food safety compliance programs.Seek methods and technology to continuously improve training programs and deliveryEnsure team is adapting training programs aligning with legislative, customer identified, and internal product opportunity (innovation) based food safety needs.15% - Food Safety University (FSU)
Develop, lead and direct the Food Safety University (FSU) training program and other Food Safety training needs by presenting and enhancing the program to company decision makers impacting food safety.40% - Compliance
Propose immediate and multi-year recommendations and game plans to food safety leadership for the roadmap and strategy of how Lamb Weston can strengthen food safety foundations and knowledge and mitigate/reduce food safety risks.Oversee the creation and management of global Food Safety and Food Defense programs and training for compliance with FSMA, FDA, State and Local regulations, GFSI Standards and Lamb Weston Policies and Procedures.Collaborate with Corporate Engineering, Security, Procurement, Operations, Sales and Logistics to develop, implement and maintain Food Safety programs and policies that meet Federal regulations, customer, and GFSI requirements.Use data and training results for continuous improvement in food safety training and policies where opportunities are identified.Develop and maintain policies, procedures and training related to FSMA, BRCGS, HACCP, and Food Safety programs and collaborates with FSQ Operations for their implementation.20% - Embedding Food Safety into LW as Core Pillar/Culture
Develop and implement Food Safety Culture Initiatives within the Food Safety and Quality department and champion throughout the global company to become a premiere leader in Food Safety manufacturing processesCollaborate with Director of Food Safety and Compliance on projects to enhance global food safety training and policies as opportunities arise. Partner successfully with cross-functional departments within and outside the organization and builds effective relationships to ensure success of food safety culture, policies and programsUtilize global survey results to shape food safety culture plans and ensure accountability to goal changes are being implemented through the use of surveys and KPI data .Drives practices and processes that create and enhance corporate and plant food safety values. Ensures both direct reports and where applicable indirect contacts are adhering to employee handbook, GMPs and other company and food safety policies and procedures.Ensure team has adequate resources, and provide necessary training that will assist the team in reaching its goals.Basic & Preferred Qualifications
Education/ Certifications: (Required & Preferred)
B.S. in Microbiology, Food Science, Operations, Project Management or related field.Minimum of 7+ years of progressive food safety and food processing experience required; at least 5 years in a manufacturing environment under FDA and/or HACCP food safety programs preferred.Skills and Experience:
Excellent and proficient grasp of FSMA, HACCP, BRC, Food Defense, and Food Safety Culture.Capable of working independently and has strong demonstrated leadership, interpersonal and self-initiative skillsStrong skills in relationship building, sustainable partnerships and collaboration, both internally and externallyAbility to be self-motivated to create and drive food safety programs forwardAbility to lead by example and demonstrates corporate and plant valuesProven track record in people management (developing, coaching, mentoring, directing) and fiscal managementExcellent organizational and project management skills a mustComputer Skills: MS Office – Word, SharePoint, PowerPoint, ExcelOutstanding interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal). Proficient command of English - must be an effective communicator (oral and written) with training, facilitation and project management skills.
