Sr Manager Freight Brokerage
Position OverviewThe Senior Manager, Freight Brokerage plays a critical role in managing the strategic direction and development of a comprehensive Freight Brokerage program, focusing on people, processes, and technology. In this role, the Manager will leverage industry experience and expertise to drive business growth and operational excellence. The role requires collaboration with key internal stakeholders, maintaining strong client and carrier relationships, and effective communication to identify supply chain improvements and ensure the program's success.

Job DescriptionDescription

By leveraging industry experience and subject matter expertise, work with internal and external partners to develop a robust Freight Brokerage program including all things people, process and technology. The program will be for national use, must provide at least $2M of NET Income to the the company's EBITDA bottom line and should be scalable for ongoing company growth through merger and acquisition. Determine if the program should have a specific brand or market presence and if so, what that should look like and how it should be marketed. Create, maintain, and continuously improve the utilization of technology to manage the program. Including, but not limited to, utilizing TMS to track all loads, connect directly to 3rd party freight brokerage firms and carriers, monitor payments and performance, etc. Analyze data and identify areas for improvement in the supply chain both for financial performance and service to freight customers. Work closely with all key transportation sub departments (such as Outbound, Inbound, Operations Planning and Routing) to ensure the best NET use of the company's fleet assets and drivers for all work (store delivery, DC to DC transfers, backhauls, and freight brokerage). Provide data, leadership, and clear communication to ensure the health of the overall transportation operations department. Research, engage and build high quality relationships with both direct freight customers and freight brokerage partners. Continually develop a new customer funnel. Ensure that the fit between the company's Fleet Brokerage and these partners is solid and healthy. Oversee new contracts, contract adjustments and all internal and external requirements (such as insurance, freight ownership, etc.) along with performance metrics that come along with managing this program. Lead, coach, manage and develop team members who support both business development and day to day execution of the Freight Brokerage program. Hire, train and support new associates. Create and manage goals, provide feedback, execute annual reviews. Ensure that skillsets and capabilities match and support the direction of the program. Develop and implement strategies to build a positive and inclusive environment across all team members and internal partners. By assessing if the team has the appropriate structure and personnel to develop, communicate, and execute on company initiatives.Travel Required:Yes
