As a Senior Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking Customer Acquisition and Marketing Platforms team, you will take on a leadership role by offering technical coaching and advisory to multiple technical teams. Additionally, you will anticipate the needs and potential dependencies of other functions within the firm.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide overall direction, oversight, and coaching for a team of entry-level to mid-level engineers working on basic to moderately complex tasksMake decisions that influence teams’ resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and proceduresCreates a culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect for team members and prioritizes diverse representationExecutes solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problemsWorks in an Agile development environment with team members, including Product OwnersDevelops secure, high-quality production code, review and debug code written by others, and drive decisions influencing product design, application functionality, and technical operationsEnsures quality and completeness of the product through unit, component, integration, and end-to-end testingServe as a subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus and actively contribute to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the end-to-end development life cycleInfluence peers and project decision makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience . In addition, 2 + years of experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise Experience managing software engineering teams to deliver high-quality, production-grade solutionsExperience guiding teams to accomplish objectives aligned with strategic initiatives7+ years of demonstrated coaching and mentoring experience7+ years of hands-on experience in Java, REST services, Spring and Spring Boot4+ years of hands-on experience with AWS especially Terraform, EKS, ECS, and Lambda4+ years of hands-on experience with databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Cassandra)Collaborate with various stakeholders and independently tackle design and functionality challenges with minimal oversightHands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operation stabilityExcellent problem solving and analytical skills with strong customer focusStrong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
Experience recruiting, mentoring, and rewarding top talentStrong Python experience, especially in the context of developing Agentic and Data solutions for large financial platformsExperience with Agentic technologies (esp. LangChain), including design and implementation of production-grade solutionsExperience using Snowflake, Databricks or a similar PaaS offeringFamiliarity with Graph databases
