ResponsibilitiesAs our Senior Manager, Purchasing for the North America hardware components category, you will be responsible leading a cross functional team (Purchasing, Supply Chain, Hardware Engineering, and Product Management) for strategic sourcing, negotiating, and managing suppliers throughout the entire product lifecycle including the broad range of IDEMIA biometric product solutions including scanners, tablets, kiosks, identification devices, integrated solutions, and other peripherals for products used in IDEMIA customer programs.
This role and team will also engage in contract management activities, interpret highly complex contractual documentation, draft and negotiate modifications to existing agreements, and execute agreements. To optimize product lifecycle management, this role and team will work closely with Product Management, Supply Chain, and Quality organizations. This role generates market analysis, requests for proposals, performs competitive bids, leads the contract negotiations, and supports the business with ongoing supplier management and evaluation program. The successful candidate will also interact with IDEMIA HQ (Paris-France) based Category Management teams to develop global strategies for regional implementation.
Job Responsibilities
Lead strategic sourcing efforts, including request for proposals, competitive bids, market analysis, and supplier evaluations.Negotiate and draft moderate to highly complex contracts, amendments, addenda, SOWs, and project statements to accommodate scope changes or changes in organizational requirements.Develop/Engage in category strategies in close alignment with the business lines, product management, and global team members.Construct and develop logical sourcing strategies and fact-based options. Review vendor proposals, pricing, and terms and conditions. Provide standardized process and documentation for all sourcing engagements.Independently interpret contracts for the enterprise and advise leadership of contractual rights obligations and risks. Primary liaison with legal for legal issues while fostering a collaborative business relationship.Utilize industry level benchmarking and relevant data for negotiations. Perform market analysis, price benchmarking, and supplier risk assessments.Strategically manage the supply chain including contract manufacturers and tier 2 suppliers.Ensure ethical process and approach is utilized during all contract negotiations.Maintain high level understanding of business and project alignments, developing collaborative relationships with business product and program teams.Work closely with business customer program and program procurement, recommending and developing repeatable and consistent processes within the framework of agreements to ensure metrics, processes, and procedures are in place and executed to measure vendor performance and ensure optimum vendor delivery, service, quality, and pricing.Develop, implement, and manage cost savings projects.Develop and implement purchasing and supply chain reporting based on common KPIs.
Organization Responsibilities
Position demands extensive teamwork with IDEMIA contacts located in multiple sites across North America. Individual must be an effective communicator who can add value to the IDEMIA sourcing and supplier management. Individual must be proactive, innovative and autonomous. QualificationsEducation
Bachelor degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or equivalent.Preferred: Masters in Business, Supply Chain.
Experience
Minimum 5-10 years experience in hardware purchasing and supply chain management with experience in mechanical and electronic purchasing.Program purchasing experience for large customer programs.Proven experience evolving in a complex environment and in implementing robust strategies and processes.Ability to develop relationships internal and external with a high degree of integrity.Commercial acumen along with excellent analytical, problem solving, decision making, and negotiating skills.Results oriented with ability to function in a multicultural team environment.Experience in working in a remote or distributed environment.Result oriented, ability to manage multiple projects while effectively meeting deadlines.Ability to understand BOMs and drawings.Strong computer skills including MS Excel, Word, Outlook, and e-sourcing.Strong written and verbal communication skills.‘Can do’ attitude.US citizenship required.
