WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR

Material Manufacturing operations is key to Innovation and Product Excellence. We have built a new, unified Material Supply Chain organization which will transform our material capabilities, teams, and processes to accelerate our vision to serve every athlete*.

As a Senior Materials Manufacturing, on the Material Manufacturing team, you will drive to manage materials manufacturing process for assigned material vendors. Responsible for the product creation process from initial concept through to commercialization and production for assigned models to lead to on time delivery and development according to critical dates, product specification, sustainability, performance and profitability goals.

Drive and execute materials excellence with vendors from buy ready through production Production ManagementPricing ExecutionFacilitate resolution on exceptions.Act a primary resource for vendor communication, performance evaluation, management and issue resolutionSolve problem through research and analyze resultsEstablish and maintain relationships with vendors. Communicate and provide feedback to vendors regarding KPIs related to innovation, costing, on-time delivery, quality and sustainability. Strong partnerships with cross functional team members to implement corrective actions as needed. Responsible for maintaining all production tools, vendor source base tools and all pertinent material lead time, price information in an accurate and timely manner.Additional project and task assignment

As a Senior, you will leverage your business and technical skillsets to influence new ways of working across a large organization. WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON

• With your teammates, you will support key initiatives that support a resilient material ecosystem and evolve operations to support key business goals. You’ll lead projects and collaborate with various teams to increase efficiency and effectiveness through process, tools, and communication. You will leverage an analytical mindset towards data systems, analytics, and quality data management.

• Along with your focused suppliers, you will manage and drive the material sample and production lead time to meet Rapid Response request.  You will engage directly with vendors, ensuring they deliver sample and production on time, at the right cost and quality, resolving issues along the way. As a materials operation expert, you will deliver vendor to delivery correct production to meet Nike’s  requirements. You will also partner with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure delivering quality product to the consumer with most efficiency lead time.

WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH

This role is based in Shanghai and reports into a Sr. Material Manager, MM.  This role will integrates and communicates moderately complex information, sometimes to audiences who are not familiar with the subject matter. Acts as resource to teammates. Completes work independently with review at critical points; requires guidance only on complex issues.

WHAT YOU BRING

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience5+ years relevant material development or manufacturing experienceSpecific knowledge and experience in footwear or apparel materials manufacturing (textiles, leather, synthetic leather, components) is preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skillsProject and time management skills; commitment to delivering results, on timeAbility to network across a complex, matrixed environment, and utilize internal and external resourcesInfluencing skills & ability to collaborate and drive change with various external partners and cross-functional internal teamsComfortable engaging with both external partners and internal stakeholders and building strong partnershipsAbility to maintain focus through ambiguity and changeExperience working in data systemsAbility to travel 5%
