Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance, Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards, Cold Room/Freezers -22degrees, Fluctuating Temps hot/cold, Loud Noises (Equipment/Machinery), Office, Rapid flashing lights, Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.), Standing for full shift, Strong Odors (chemical, lubricants, biological products etc.), Will work with hazardous/toxic materials

Position Summary

Become a Sr. Manufacturing Equipment Maintenance Technician in Carlsbad. Work with a hard-working team to maintain and improve our automated production equipment. Collaborate with machine owners and operators to achieve our goals.

Key ResponsibilitiesEnsure safety compliance with regulations and industry standardsIdentify and accurately address unsafe conditions related to mechanical safety, electrical safety, shielding, and guardingComplete safety review checklists for new and modified equipmentAdhere strictly to site safety procedures, including lock-out-tag-out

Operations SupportTroubleshoot and repair production equipment to minimize downtimeEnsure spare parts are readily availablePerform scheduled preventative maintenance and adjust as neededTrain and mentor production associatesUpdate equipment-related SOPs

New EquipmentSpecify and procure new production equipmentPerform factory-acceptance-tests and installationsEstablish spare parts and maintenance requirementsComplete safety reviews for new equipment

Continuous ImprovementIdentify and implement cost-saving and quality improvement measuresParticipate in site continuous improvement activities like PPI and Lean

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications5+ years of relevant experience or an Associate's Degree in a related fieldProficiency in electrical, electronics, and controls technologiesExperience with automated production equipmentStrong mechanical skills and knowledge of industrial automationProficiency with hand and power toolsDemonstrated working knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, lubrication, electrical systems and industrial automationKnowledge of practices and techniques in general construction, repair and maintenance in a commercial environmentExperience with equipment design, specifications, fabrication, installation, and validationStrong mechanical skills including the ability to perform mechanical disassembly, repairs, and reassembly of complicated equipment

CommunicationStrong verbal and written communication skillsProficiency in PC applications such as Outlook, Word, and ExcelAbility to work in diverse environments, including offices, laboratories, and production areas

Requires occasional lifting up to 50 pounds

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $24.00/hr - $36.00/hr.

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in California is $24.00–$40.00.
