Sr Mgr, Process Excellence
The Opportunity:

The Senior Manager, Finance Process Excellence, will be responsible for driving continuous improvement and operational excellence within the finance function at CSL Behring. This role is dedicated to optimizing financial processes, enhancing efficiency, and ensuring the implementation of best practices across the global CSL Behring Finance organization.

You will lead the evaluation, project management, and implementation of financial process improvements, ensuring that CSL Behring Finance operates with best-in-class financial processes. across the CSL Behring Finance organization globally. You will foster a culture of continuous improvement, helping the finance team achieve its strategic goals and deliver exceptional value to our organization.

Key responsibilities include leading cross-functional initiatives to improve and automate financial processes, managing finance-related improvement projects from creation to completion, and ensuring timely and accurate reporting of process excellence performance metrics. You will work closely with FP&A and Finance Business Partner teams to improve ways of working and deliver process excellence.

This leadership position demands project management skills, and a commitment to executing at the highest standard. The Senior Manager will help shape the future of CSL Behring Finance, ensuring that we remain agile, efficient, and aligned with its strategic goals.

The Role:Process Improvement:

Lead initiatives to streamline and automate financial processes: Identify and implement process improvements and automation tools to reduce manual effort and increase accuracy in budgeting and month-end reporting.

Identify opportunities for process enhancements: Conduct regular reviews of budgeting and reporting workflows to pinpoint inefficiencies and implement best practices, such as zero-based budgeting or rolling forecasts.

Develop and maintain process documentation: Create detailed guides and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for budgeting, month-end reporting, and other key financial processes for CSL Behring Finance to ensure consistency, compliance, and ease of training new team members.

Project Management:

Manage finance-related improvement projects: Oversee projects aimed at enhancing budgeting accuracy and efficiency, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. Examples include redesigning budget or month-end close process.

Coordinate cross-functional teams: Work with IT, finance, and other departments to integrate new tools for CSL Behring Finance, ensuring all stakeholders are aligned and informed.

Monitor project progress: Track milestones for budgeting and reporting improvement projects, providing regular updates to stakeholders and adjusting plans to stay on track

Change Management:

Drive change management efforts: Help use new budgeting and reporting processes and tools, ensuring a smooth transitions and minimal change to ongoing operations.

Provide training and support: Develop comprehensive training programs for finance team members on new financial processes and tools, including hands-on workshops and ongoing support.

Foster a culture of continuous improvement: Encourage feedback and suggestions from the finance team to refine budgeting and reporting processes, promoting a mindset of innovation and agility.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

Analyze financial processes: Use data analytics to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement in budgeting and month-end reporting, leveraging tools like Power BI for deeper insights.

Develop reporting tools: Implement dashboards and reporting tools that provide real-time insights into budgeting process performance and month-end close status, ensuring visibility to CSLB Finance continuous improvement activities.

Ensure accurate and timely reporting: Maintain high standards for the accuracy and timeliness of Process Excellence performance metrics, ensuring that all data is reliable and actionable.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

Work closely with finance leaders: Collaborate with budget owners and finance managers to understand their needs and provide tailored process improvement solutions that enhance budgeting, reporting, and analytics efficiency.

Act as a liaison: Facilitate communication between the finance department and other functions to ensure alignment on process improvement initiatives, addressing any concerns or roadblocks promptly.

Communicate effectively: Present process improvement plans and results to senior management, highlighting benefits and impact and ensuring transparency throughout the organization.

Risk Management:

Identify and mitigate risks: Assess potential risks in financial processes, developing strategies to mitigate them, such as implementing robust internal controls and regular audits.

Develop contingency plans: Prepare for potential disruptions in budgeting and reporting cycles, ensuring business continuity through well-defined contingency plans and backup procedures.

Compliance and Governance:

Ensure compliance: Verify that all CSLB Finance processes adhere to relevant regulations and internal policies.

Maintain governance framework: Establish and enforce governance standards for budgeting and reporting processes to ensure accountability, transparency, and adherence to best practices.

 

Innovation and Best Practices:

Stay updated on industry trends: Remain current on the latest developments in finance process excellence, particularly in budgeting and month-end reporting, by attending industry conferences and participating in professional networks.

Introduce innovative solutions: Explore and drive cutting-edge technologies and methodologies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial processes

Your skills and experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or other Business related discipline

CPA/CA or MBA a plus

Six Sigma (e.g. Black Belt) or relevant certification recommended

8+ years of experience in finance, with a focus on process improvement and project management.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Proven experience in leading process improvement initiatives and managing complex projects.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.

Strong knowledge of process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma)
