The Network and Acquirer Solutions team (NAS) is the heart of the American Express Enterprise, powering billions of transactions through the global payments processing network that we develop and manage. NAS is unique within the Enterprise. We work across almost every American Express business unit as well as external partners, providers, and key industry stakeholders. The Network Delivery team within NAS delivers new technical solutions to meet the evolving demands of global payment networks and adapt to local needs while ensuring continued global interoperability. This enables the Enterprise to attract new customers, operate in new markets, react to changing regulatory demands, and process new types of payments. A role in the Network Delivery team will challenge you to broaden your skillset and industry acumen in a collaborative, diverse and inclusive team environment. **How will you make an impact in this role?** The Manager/Sr Manager, Data Strategy & Transformation will be joining the team at a fascinating and critical time in which the team is kicking off a multi-year data strategy & transformation initiative playing a key enabling and thought partnership role in driving business growth, productivity and operational excellence for the broader organization. Reporting to the Director of Network Data Strategy & Transformation, they will have the opportunity to be part of a key strategic priority for the NAS business. This exciting role will offer the opportunity to drive the Network strategy to better process, manage, store, control, govern and monetize our critical data assets. This role is a strong opportunity to influence and drive better outcomes for Amex Network that processes billions of transactions and enables over $1.7 trillion in annual spend. The Network Data Strategy & Transformation team is forward-thinking, creative, multi-functional and collaborative, working closely with partners across NAS and the blue box. The incumbent will play an influential role working closely with key stakeholders like NAS Product, Envisioning, PCG (Payments Consulting Group), PBS (Partner Business Solutions), CFR (Credit & Fraud Risk), Pricing etc.. to understand the current landscape of network data coverage, opportunities and create a roadmap. They will provide consultative support to peers and leaders in NAS, through strategic analytics that highlight trends, risks and opportunities and actionable insights. **Key Job Responsibilities:** + Supporting the development and execution of the Network Data Strategy vision, strategy, and roadmap + Partnership and collaboration with peers on Network Data Policy & Standards, Product, Data Governance, Analytics, Tech, Delivery, Envisioning teams to find synergies, drive optimization and standardization + Participate in external and internal research and enablement of next gen AI/ML driven solutions which make data analysis, discovery and processing more efficient and optimized + Thought leadership on proposing and driving both quick wins and transformative uplift to Network Data Architecture + Provision of standardized monthly reports that focus on specific strategic initiatives, enabling drill-down into drivers + Owning key stakeholder communications on progress of committed initiatives. + Owning data discovery by forming hypotheses, defining objectives and key results, and recommending options that best balance cost-benefit to achieve defined outcomes. + Defining MVPs to meet strategic business outcomes while balancing innovation and efficiency. + Prioritizing and coordinating initiatives in partnership with Technology and Subject Matter Experts via annual, PI, and sprint planning. + Lead a team of analysts and vendor partners + Gather and share content expertise on/across various Card Payment industry standards and linkages, provide content knowledge and consultation with regional partners regarding new product and system capabilities. **Preferred Qualifications** Superior analytical skills – ability to analyze/understand large data sets, synthesize and draw out relevant insights + Aptitude for building forward looking strategy with the ability to operate fluently across data quality, management, analytics, governance, design and engineering + Strong presentation skills, particularly in creating executive summary decks for sharing strategies and progress to senior leaders + Proven ability to direct and influence complex and matrixed planning environments and make space for the development of next gen solutions + Extreme attention to detail and accuracy – strong sense of responsibility and accountability + Ability to excel in moments of peak demand when skillful prioritization or delegation/escalation is required + Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Able to simplify complex ideas, navigate cross-functional teams and build relationships, influence decisions, and deliver on shared objectives + Demonstrated ability to analyze data and processes to identify creative solutions and drive incremental improvement + Ability to self-start, carve opportunities out of ambiguity, and operate with a high degree of independence + 5 years of analytic or data management programming experience required (SQL, SAS, R or Python) + Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field e.g. Engineering, Statistics **Qualifications** Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually bonus benefits The above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition.
