The RoleThe Senior Manager Engineering – Federal role is a highly technical, hands-on, and management position requiring the selected candidate to both lead and participate in multiple team environments and to provide independent efforts to all aspects of system integration including design, needs analysis, design review, testing, implementation, and validation, notably for Dark Fiber contracts. The candidate must be a self-starter and experience leading a team with little to no supervision. Under this position, it’s expected the member will be able to coordinate team activities, manage team responsibilities, people, rapidly identify and resolve problems, engineer, identify, and become proficient in the latest technology applicable to the position, and conduct critical thinking towards challenges and solutions to meet the objectives of the team. This individual will develop and execute their technical skill in method and procedures, leading the development, evaluation and implementation of new processes and procedures to lead a highly skilled engineering team. The candidate should be considered the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in multiple technologies, architectures, and solutions utilized by the team, as well as senior lead technical writer creating and executing budget estimates on proposals.

Establishes and assures adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans and performance requirements.Leads or supports strategic initiatives and projects that span across the organization or involve multiple departments or functions. Such as but not limited to Site Surveys, Site Concurrence letters, EDP, Asbuilt, test plans and test exit reports contract deliverables.May serve as a technical consultant to a project or a number of projects dealing with area of technical expertiseWhat We Look For in a Candidate This role requires a security clearance of a TS/SCI.Perform day-to-day management of overall contract operations, supporting multiple projects and groups of contractor personnel at multiple locations. Work with the higher-level program manager, if applicable, to provide effective and efficient management of the contractor’s effort. Allocate resources (staffing, facilities, and budgets) on assigned contract tasks. Review and provide input to the Integrated Program Baseline (or resource loaded schedule) to the Government. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and administrative requirements imposed by the contract in coordination with the Contractor’s contracts staff.Professional Bachelors degree or equivalent education and experience. Typically 10+ years related experience and 8+ years related experience with Masters degree.Manager Bachelors degree or equivalent education and experience. Typically with 5-7 years related experience and 2+ years previous manager level leadership experience preferred.Legal Statements

CompensationThe starting salary for this role differs based on the employee's primary work location. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual's qualifications.
Location Based Pay Ranges
$129,080 - $172,100 in these states: DC, MD, VA.
As with the pay range variety that's based on the region of a country, specific offers are determined by various factors such as experience, education, skills, certifications and other business needs.
