Sr Mgr Logistics & Fleet

Position Summary: The Senior Manager, Logistics and Fleet will primarily focus on optimizing logistics operations, including daily reporting, financial planning, route optimization, and implementing new technology. Additionally, this role will support fleet management activities to ensure the effective and efficient operation of a fleet of 635 vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

Logistics Optimization: Develop and implement strategies to enhance logistics operations, including optimizing routing, improving delivery efficiency, and minimizing costs. Daily Reporting: Prepare and present comprehensive daily reports for senior management, covering key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics. Financial Planning and Tracking: Create and manage budgets for logistics operations, track expenses, and identify cost-saving opportunities. Expense Reduction: Proactively identify and implement strategies to reduce logistics-related expenses and improve overall efficiency. Alpha Route Planning: Plan and optimize alpha routes to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products. Routing Improvement: Continuously evaluate and refine routing strategies to improve delivery times and reduce fuel consumption. Data Analysis: Analyze logistics data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement. Utilize data-driven insights to inform decision-making and enhance operations. Supervise Logistics Analysts: Lead and mentor a team of logistics analysts, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations. Ensure the team effectively supports logistics operations through data analysis and process improvement. Implement New Technology: Research, evaluate, and implement new technologies to enhance logistics operations. Stay updated on industry trends and advancements to ensure the company remains competitive and innovative. DOT Compliance: Ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, including maintaining accurate driver records, conducting regular vehicle inspections, and ensuring all drivers have required certifications. Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to ensure seamless logistics operations and effective communication. Fleet Management: Assist in the management and maintenance of a fleet of 635 vehicles, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime. Support Fleet Operations: Provide support for fleet-related activities, including driver management, vehicle inspections, and maintenance coordination.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics and fleet management. Strong knowledge of logistics software and fleet management systems. Proficiency in financial planning and expense tracking. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to communicate effectively with senior management and team members. Proven track record of identifying and implementing cost-saving measures. Experience with route planning and optimization. Knowledge of transportation regulations, including DOT compliance. Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
